Beach Wedding; Wheelchairs on Beach

Hi! We are getting married in two months on a beach in Ventura, California. I have three individuals who will need wheelchair access. Has anyone had to do this? And if so how did you manage? We have looked into beach wheelchairs but those are available. Thinking of making a wooden plank but that adds to our stress and budget. TIA

I have been to a beach wedding and they had special wheel chairs for the beach (extra wide wheels) , I assume they were provided by the venue. maybe your ceremony venue offers them?

There is a thing as beach wheelchairs, and I would find it surprising if you couldn’t rent them from somewhere for the day. Maybe you should ask whoever is setting up your wedding, whomever owns/runs the beach, or a local wedding planner (if you don’t already have one).

I meant to add that depending on the sand, planks may not sit straight or flat enough to push wheelchairs across. You would have to actually look at the beach to figure that out because every beach can be different.

I would also recommend reaching out to your venue coordinator and asking if they provide beach wheelchairs. If they don’t they may be able to advise where you can rent them from.
Have you spoken with the venue yet in relation to this?
