Bathroom basket?

Nicole, on April 4, 2013 at 8:33 AM

An older woman at work asked me about making a basket of toiletries for the bathroom at the reception. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where I've seen this done! Is this common? Am I supposed to do this????

I love these! I have seen them on pinterest. I think i am only going to do one for the ladies room and just put a bunch of stuff us girls often leave at home because it doesnt fit into our small cute going out purses! nothing too crazy just maybe like $20.... examples like tide stain stick, aspirin, tums, tissues, perfume spray, etc nothing too crazy but at the same point I wouldnt think twice if someone didnt have that at their wedding. j

Static-Guard is a nice item to include.

I have seen them before, but not often. My venue has 8 single stall bathrooms, none of which have any substantial counter space, so I am not going to worry about it.

Darn it you guys! Another thing I didn't know I needed until I read that. Smiley smile Of course I will make one now ...

I am grateful that so many of our guests are traveling for our special day. I want to make them feel very special as guests.

I already bought the 'wedding toilet paper' from oriental trading as a fun touch. Yeah, FH's comment "No, you did not ..." Smiley laugh

Bee j. - for the men maybe also gum and floss sticks, maybe a tide stain remover and a bottle of axe deodorant? Maybe hair gel?

    Yes ma'am! Smiley smile

I have fun imagining the giggling when guests use it. Only in the women's bathroom, I am thinking the men might not be impressed.

I'm skipping them, because it is possible that we may have to share the bathroom area with another event/wedding, and with the outdoor bar that it is attached to. I don't need people not at our wedding using things I bought.

I've never seen them done at a wedding and I don't plan on doing one for mine.

I would say it's not necessary except that I had to grab a tampon out of one of those at a wedding one time when I got a freak in-the-middle-of-a-cycle period. Probably 90% of the stuff will go unused, but if you put stuff in it that you would use later anyway, it's probably not a big deal to throw it together.

What kind of toiletries would you even put in? Its a bathroom, you just need TP and an occasional tampon! I assume most would bring whatever else theyd need lol

I've never seen them at weddings I've been to, but wanted to do them anyways. But now that it's next month I just don't have the drive to put it together, too many other things on my plate lol.

I've only been to one wedding that had one, and I thought it was really nice. Especially since I gladly used a hairpin and hair tie. I think if you can do it and its a private restroom then its nice to do.
