Bathroom basket?

Nicole, on April 4, 2013 at 8:33 AM

An older woman at work asked me about making a basket of toiletries for the bathroom at the reception. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where I've seen this done! Is this common? Am I supposed to do this????

I think it's a cute idea. I'm a big couponer so I have stockpiles of most of the items needed.

I don't have a venue booked yet but I would definitely do this if the bathrooms were private. I would appreciate it as a guest.

I'm going with the with the other bride to be's and guessing its a regional thing. Here in Massachusetts I've seen them at every wedding I've been to for the last 5 or so years.

I put a basket in both the men's room and the ladies' room at my daughter's recent wedding. I was shocked the next day when we went back to the venue to pick things up that our bathroom baskets were almost completely empty! I guess people thought they were "free samples" and not emergency items. And some of the items taken were not small -- a fullsize can of hairspray, an Axe men's body spray, lint roller brushes. Really people? Half the things in the baskets were leftover from my other daughter's wedding 2 years ago where very few items were touched so it's not a big deal. I just wonder if it was actually our guests who helped themselves to everything or the waitstaff at the venue. Fortunately I didn't put anything in there that I really wanted back. I'm just glad they left the baskets!

Wow never heard of it! Interesting, might consider doing one depending on how overwhelmed I am with other DIYs.

Yes this must to avoid any inconvenience to your guest. This includes basic beauty and grooming products, first aid kits and things like sewing kit, Tissues, stain remover that you will need in emergency situations. You guests would love this.
