Barn Weddings: In or Out?

Its not my style or what I would want (we went for a reproduction Medieval castle hall). But I grew up in farm country and always thought it was sweet when classmates got married on their parents' farm. Then it is no different from having a backyard wedding except you already have a large enclosed space in case of bad weather. But I dont see the appeal of spending tons of money to rent a barn for a wedding.

Out. I think they're unique, but there's so many cons to having a barn wedding that I think they're out and over with.

If you live in the country or rural area, or if that is just your taste, then have at it. But as far as the "trend" I am completely over it! It is overdone and not unique in any way anymore.

It's not for me personally. I just attended a barn wedding. It was pretty but it's just so wildly popular that it feels generic. In my area, it's so popular that I'm considering a venue somewhere not local to me. Out of probably 150 venues, 75% are barn/rustic/farm.

Barn weddings are so much in! We wanted a barn wedding but because they are so popular they are also very pricey.

They are pretty. It's the couples' preference.

One-hundred percent in!. People love the barn feel. When most people think barn they think of one that is run down and smells bad. This is however not the case. Also, some places such as my venue, have the word "barn" in the name but has more of an elegant cabin and forest feel to it.

In! I love the rustic look.

We're not having our wedding in a barn, but it's evident it's still in. I love the rustic look attached to it. Really nice.

I think there's only a slim window of time during the year when, weather wise, barn weddings are okay. In Michigan, I just wouldn't chance it.

Definitely in, it's a great alternative for a banquet hall or other general reception venue.
