Bar close during dinner?

I'm from PA. They close during dinner here.

I've never heard of that

I'm in N.Y. Every wedding I've been to the bar closes during dinner. We are paying extra to have the bar open during dinner. The most we can keep the bar open is 5 hours due to some sort of regulation.

On the west coast, the bar never closes. Must be regional??

That doesn't happen in Long Island, NY. There would be a riot lol. I think it's a regional thing!

Must be a regional thing. All of the venues we looked at in our area closed down for the dinner hour. (I live in NY).

No. Many people don't drink alcohol with their food. And what. U will close down when they most need a cup of soda or water. Mmmmm no thanks.

I'm in TX, and the last wedding I went to closed the bar for dinner. It made it less awkward when they did a couple speeches, as there weren't people up, standing in line.

I've never heard of this i live in Maryland. Although I'm having my wedding at restaurant this definitely will not happen during my event. I'm having open bar all night.

For us, it isn't so much as it it'll be closed during dinner as it will be that we only paid for open bar for 2 hours. Once that 2 hours is up, the bar will be closed.

Umm where we live the stores are open 24/7

And sells liquor I really don't see them closing for an hour or so for a wedding reception..

I'm in the Chicago land area. The bar always closes during dinner. (In my experience) Wine, tea and coffee and water are available during dinner. Many folks know to grab 1 more drink at the end of happy hour if they want something specific. The champagne toast (if you do one) is also during dinner so there isn't a lack of alcohol by any means.

Our venue is the same way. I believe it's a state law or something. Their only permitted to serve alcohol for so many hours so they close during dinner.

Our venue closes for dinner because the bar needs to move from outside to inside. It will open after dinner. BTW:we are located in illinois

It must be regional. I'm in NY and have attended weddings in PA, NJ, and NY. Never seen this happen.
