Both would be beautiful and either would make for a beautiful wedding venue!!

Honestly, April and October are probably similar in terms of weather - both can be cold and snow is a possibility in either month. But in October, you might have a better chance of having pretty fall leaves instead of brown melted snow everywhere.

Where are you from and where are your guests coming from?

Lake Louise to me is the prettier spot but it is also more remote, tougher to get to (especially if the weather does happen to be bad) and there is a lot less around it for your guests. Kind of depends on the style of wedding that you are hoping to have!

I've lived in Lake Louise for years and can honestly tell you, you will not get pretty fall colors in October, It's alpine trees. Snow falls year round and by mid October there's definitely gonna be snow in the ground. I've gotten good feed back about the Banff Springs ( I've always thought it was prettier) I love both places but either date you'll have snow.

Also if you decide on either places, contact me, I used to plan weddings in Lake Louise and can give you ideas for your guests to do while visiting and little tricks about where to eat and what to order etc...

For that time of year, I think lake louise would be best! Although; I have only been in the area there during march/april.

Thanks so much everyone for your feedback! I got engaged at the end of October and it was a little chilly however he the Lakes were still beautiful and blue

I do love the Banff Springs hotel a lot better however the April date is whats concerning me.. I just don't want it to be slushy and brown snow.

At least in October if it does snow it still will be pretty because its fresh!

Most of my guests are from California or Alberta.

I will definitely contact you Champagne Taste!

My cousin eloped at the Banff Springs Hotel, but that was in December. Beautiful pictures.

Only ever been to the Banff Springs and that was in winter months.

I like Lake Louise better. In Banff there are a bajillion weddings back to back all summer- spring is also a busy time.

Lake Louise is a more intimate location.

I went to a wedding on Oct. 13th last year at the Rim Rock and there was no snow and it was stunning!

Both are beautiful! I would lean towards Lake Louise as my preference though. When I visited Banff several years ago... I do remember the sulphur smell from the springs. Not sure if you'd have that where your wedding would be... but if it is near the springs it would be a possibility.

April or October would be chilly... but if plan for that both would be absolutely amazing! Smiley smile
