Bachelorette party... without the bars?

Elizabeth, on November 3, 2014 at 7:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

Hi all!

My MOH and I are trying to come up with ideas for the bachelorette party, but there's an issue with going out partying. One of the bridesmaids - my little sister - is only 17. She's very mature for her age and I trust her around alcohol, but of course she's not legal. Even if she had a fake, I don't think she'd pass for 19, which is the drinking age in Nova Scotia.

So I'm looking for fun (but not too cheesy!) and inexpensive bachelorette party ideas that could be done in a hotel room. Drinking games are fine, just not going to bars or anywhere else where she could get IDed. Any ideas you guys might have would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Elizabeth

I know you said in a hotel room but if you want to go out to do something one of those BYOB painting parties are fun! You can usually take little appetizers to munch on and they're a lot of fun.

Brunch with Spa day makeovers, massages and funky manicures. And maybe add a photoshoot in the end.

One of my friends was in the same situation and she did a pottery painting class! It was also BYOB so that's a nice feature. Any kind of cooking or painting class could be fun.

I don't think everything you do needs to be in a hotel room! I love the painting idea, or you could do something else hands on, like a cooking or baking class. You and your girls can also get lunch or dinner (or both), manis and pedis and then hang in the hotel room at night and play games and drink! That's what I would do.

Staying in a Newport Beach hotel and sushi/shopping is what one of my BMs recently surprised me with!

OR...you could do a spa day or other day activity then top it off with a little fun and partying in a hotel room?

These are great ideas! I assumed we would be having it at night but I guess we don't have to, I didn't even think of that. In that case the painting idea or manicures would be great.

We did wine tasting but then we went back to one of my BMs homes and just played board games, are cake, and drank alcohol. It was pretty low key.

We're having a beach BBQ for mine, but then I live in the Cayman Islands so I have that advantage.

But you could do a lot of fun things in the day, a picnic or a spa day...

I had an underage girl in my wedding party and at my bachelorette party - my SIL. Here is my post and everything we did. Not very expensive and a lot of fun!

I am actually not planning a true bachelorette party. Some of the teachers I work with are talking about throwing me a Pure Romance bachelorette party, but that is all that I am aware of.

I had 2 underagers in my bridal party. We ended up going out to dinner and then to a Lady Gaga concert, which was freakin fabulous. Afterwards, they went home and the rest of us went out. I really love the pottery painting and mani pedi ideas too!

How about dinner? You get to go out, BM get to drink, yet your underage BM can still participate
