Bachelorette party... without the bars?

Hi all!

My MOH and I are trying to come up with ideas for the bachelorette party, but there's an issue with going out partying. One of the bridesmaids - my little sister - is only 17. She's very mature for her age and I trust her around alcohol, but of course she's not legal. Even if she had a fake, I don't think she'd pass for 19, which is the drinking age in Nova Scotia.

So I'm looking for fun (but not too cheesy!) and inexpensive bachelorette party ideas that could be done in a hotel room. Drinking games are fine, just not going to bars or anywhere else where she could get IDed. Any ideas you guys might have would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Elizabeth

I don't like drinking or going out anymore so I didn't want it at a bar. I think we are doing a spa day then going to my MOH house and having a movie/sleepover night like old times lol

We did nachos, then a chick flick while we did our nails for the wedding.

I'd say spa, theater, hotel party, nice dinner, pole dancing class?

My bachelorette party is this weekend so I'll let you know what my girls have planned for me. All I know is to wear something nice and that clubbing is an afterthought and we can go out if I want Smiley tongue

I own a mobile day spa and the majority of my business is bachelorette spa parties. A group gets together at someone's house or hotel room and get spa services like mini facials and massages. Sometimes they go out afterwards, or just stay in and turn it into a slumber party.

See if there is a mobile day spa in your area.

My MOH is throwing me a Wine & paint night at her house. It's going to be a bridal shower/wine & paint night :-) I don't drink wine so for me, Liquor & paint night :-) Do hold these events at bars a lot around here, generally girls night type of thing so my MOH is hosting one at her house for me.

I am in the same situation as you one of my bridesmaids is 20 as well as my fiance and I's roomate (legal drinking age is 21). We decided to do dinner games and drinks at my sister in laws house for a few hours and then whoever wants to go afterwards will all be going to a local bar as an after party type thing.

Part of my bachelorette party involved bars, but not all of it - we went to a painting bar (this one served alcohol, but I know not all of them restrict underage customers, as long as they don't try to order alcohol - they also served food and non-alcoholic options), then all went to dinner. After that, we went bowling, and then we went to a cocktail lounge, but that was at the end of the night.

We went to a lake for paddle boarding, then out wine tasting and dinner, and then home for a bone fire. Definitely consider moving things earlier in the day so you can do something like manicures, spa day, wine tasting (she doesn't need to participate and can still hang out), etc. No one says it has to be at night! Hope it turns out fun!

@Elizabeth I'm in NS too! I don't want to do the bar scene so we are renting a cottage or two, maybe at Oceanstone (near Peggys Cove) or somewhere in the valley or something. It will be BYOB and a bonfire, telling stories and maybe playing a few drinking games. My MOH also suggested having someone come in to do mani's and pedi's. Another thought is surfing. We went for a lesson not that long ago at the Lawrencetown beach and what a blast! One of the funnest things I've ever done! Lot's of things you can do!

We had a great day of afternoon mani-pedis, lunch at a nice restaurant and then a little shopping. Drinking doesn't need to be involved.

We're going to go horseback riding and either out to dinner or picnic on the hill side. Just to relax and have fun before hand :-)
