Bachelorette party thank you gifts. Are those a thing?

Shelby_Erin26, on July 14, 2016 at 1:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I was going over my to-do list and I need to buy thank you gifts for the hosts of my bridal shower that is in a couple weeks and it got me thinking, do I need to get thank you gifts for the bachelorette party? I am assuming they are all contributing to the party since that's pretty standard so I would be getting gifts for 8 people. Is this even a thing? If it is what did you get for your girls?

Up to you, but I've never received a thank you gift for hosting a bachelorette (although to be honest I've never received one for throwing a shower either). I think a small gift like a bottle of wine or candle is appropriate here as well! I also love it when brides get a cute favor for everyone as a gift at the bachelorette to thank everyone for coming! You could do that and get the hosts a little something extra!

I plan to get my girls something small (less than $20 each). They understand weddings are expensive so they won't expect anything, especially something expensive! It's just a nice thought and acknowledges that they went out of their way to plan your party! Like WWLynnie suggested a bottle of wine is perfect or a gift card to their favorite coffee place!

Following I was wondering this same thing. Or does one just wait and give a big gift right before the wedding

I don't think it's necessary, and I wasn't really planning on it. I did get my girls hostess gifts for the shower, and will get them nice gifts to hand out at the RD.

Following...didn't think about this until now. I like the candle idea - everyone loves those little scented ones from Bath & Body Works

@WWLynnie I kind of like the idea of getting the favors for the bachelorette party!

Maybe since its a bachelorette party I can do something small like a mini bottle of their favorite alcohol with a mixer that makes sense for it.

I also feel like if I was a bridesmaid I wouldn't expect anything for throwing a bachelorette party but I've never been a bridesmaid before so I have no expectations except for what I've heard on WW lol

I always see cute little bachelorette gifts/favors on Etsy and Pinterest and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to get those or if the girls did. Well neither of us said anything so we all did! The host did little hangover kits for us from Etsy with hair ties, smartwater, Tylenol, sunglasses, Gatorade, etc. They also got all of the beads, decorations, champagne, t shirts, etc. I got them each a little champagne bucket full of their favorite candy, headbands, champagne, etc.

I bought tank tops for everyone, and I'll send thank you cards after. I'm buying nice gifts (rose gold and white sapphire earrings) for my bridesmaids as a big "thank you" for everything.
