Are your guys wearing boutonnieres?

So FH isn't big on the idea of boutonnieres. He was thinking of doing just a pocket square for him, the groomsmen & dads. What are your guys doing?

His is wear a simple spray rose boutonnieres wrapped in gray. He really didnt want anything "girly". And would probably be happier with just a pocket square but I really wanted to get them for my dad and brothers so he agreed.

They remind me of prom in pictures. FH likes them so if he wants them we're going for them. She hasn't made up his mind though*face palm*

We did bouts for H, GM, FOB, FOG, GFOG, and our officiant. But H and his GM didn't wear jackets, just vests, so no place for a pocket square. We had a single calla lily with "masculine" adornments.

I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding where we made boutonnieres out of golf tees and guitar picks (keeping with the groom's interest). Maybe something nontraditional would be preferable? Etsy has some non-floral options if you don't want to DIY.

I'm lobbying for no bouts. FH doesn't love them, but according to him "every wedding I've been in has had them." This has obviously not been a serious discussion because we have a lot of time before floral and attire decisions need to be made. However, I'm hoping that I can make some progress on this. He seems to think that if he hasn't seen it done at the 5 or 6 weddings we've been to in the past few years that it can't be done. I may be needing your guys help later to prove that a wedding without bouts is fine, splitting couples at dinner is rude, and it's not ok to have a 2+ hour gap!

I got some from Michaels and then we're going to add superhero pins to make more personal for each groomsman. Pocket squares are so sharp, I love it!

Nope, I just casually mentioned it to him and he seemed fine with it. They will all have pocket squares instead.

I'm only doing pocket squares. It'll cut costs. Plus after dancing and such they will just get destroyed.

We did bouts, but you should do what makes your FH happy.

So I realized I never thought to ask FH about this. He has pretty much told me "this is your department, tell me where/when to show up". Other than cake tasting, FH has loved leaving details up to me and when I show him things he thinks they are great. When I met with the florist she said "bouts for groom and how many others" so I just went with it. I will be confirming with FH tonight that he wants one otherwise I will take it off the florist list.

Nope, not doing them. FH doesn't like them, I don't like their cost, and most importantly, it would drive me nuts if all the bouts weren't perfectly vertical. There's always one person with a crooked bout and with 7 guys at the alter, it's too much of a risk. #ocdissues.

My FH doesn't want to, he says that since it's his wedding everyone should know who he is without it! lol like he thinks it functions like a nametag or something?
