Are you wearing your veil all night?

Maren, on November 13, 2018 at 4:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 31

Are you going to wear your veil all night long? Or are you taking it off after the ceremony or after pictures? Will you wear your veil for any of the reception? When do you plan on taking your veil off?

I plan on having a cathedral length veil, so I will definitely be taking it off after the ceremony! We plan on doing pictures before the ceremony as well.

I plan on keep my face covered with the veil for the entire ceremony, and then taking it completely off for the reception.

I'm just wearing it for the ceremony, cocktail hour photos with family and for a few pictures with FH, after that I'll be taking it off for the reception because I want to be able to move around and dance!

Hi Taylor! That sounds like a great plan, I like that! That way, you're still maximizing the time you'll wear the veil on your special day but still going to be able to dance the night away! Smiley heart

Like others have mentioned, I'm also wearing my veil for photos prior and throughout the ceremony. It's also cathedral length so it'll come off before the reception!

I am planning on having a cathedral length veil so there is no way I'm wearing it past the ceremony and the pictures. I'll have a hair comb or something for the reception.

I got an elbow length veil so I could wear it as long as possible! It’s a once in a lifetime accessory. Plus it’s super cute and goes perfectly with my tea length dress. I will be rocking out in it through the afterparty so long as it doesn’t fall off before then.

I am wearing it for the ceremony and pictures and off for the reception as it is cathedral length and I don’t want it to get in the way

Thanks Maren! Smiley laugh That's absolutely right! I love my veil so much and I want to wear it as long as I can before the reception, but moving around freely at the reception is important to me, which is why I didn't want a train or bustle on my dress.

Hi Johanna! True, it is a once-in-a-lifetime accessory and your wedding day will be the day to wear it!

I love the sound of your tea-length dress! Smiley heart Do you know how you'll be doing your hair?

That sounds so pretty, Shaunte! Smiley heart It will be fun to do a hair accessory-switch for the reception, too! Do you have any hair combs or pin styles in-mind currently?

I think so! I’ve been practicing, but we’ll see how nerves affect my hairstyling abilities day-of. I’m going for a braided chignon-type updo. Here’s a pic of an early trial run! (PS My real veil is NOT bright blue!)

Mine was fingertip length. I had intended to take it off after sunset pictures, but I never got around to it! (But after an evening of dancing, it covered up the fact that some of my hair was falling out, so I guess it was good!)

I was here before but deleted my account because I got mad lol. Thank you though!

I wish I could post pics but fh is sitting next to me lol. It will be a victorian hairstyle, curls pinned up with a ponytail and 4-6 curls down my back. Very pretty. My hairstylist of 10 years is so excited for this lol. Every time she pinned a curl she would jump up and down and say oh so pretty. Lol
