Are you really going to wear stockings on your wedding day?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting married in August and I'm really debating whether or not to where stockings... I mean, I'm going to be sweating to death as it is and I can't even fathom trying to pull them down to go to the bathroom with a huge wedding gown on. Would it be totally awful...

Would it be totally awful if I went ''commando'' as far as the stockings go? Smiley smile I can totally picture myself trying to get them off in the bathroom and tossing them in the garbage haha.

I am not wearing full stockings, just thigh high ones. My dress is long so I see no need to wear full stockings. Plus they are only 5 bucks on Ebay

Hell no. My industrial strenght Spanx have a gusset crotch opening. I can't pull down panty hose and Spanx. So, I will be hoping for good aim through the gusset. Also, my toes are open toe. I may do the old Italian lady thing and wear knee highs. Smiley smile

No stockings here either. I'm getting married the very end of March, but I loathe stockings.

No stocking for me. It was never even an option. They are way too uncomfortable and unpractical in my opinion.

    No way, no how!

I'm getting married in March and I expect it to be chilly but I am still not wearing them. I don't want to deal with them, especially when I need to use the restroom.

NO! I would have been dying, we were married in a small chapel, that had no air conditioning.

No stockings here! Maybe if my wedding was in December, and I was outside for too long, then I would maybe consider it. But not in spring and summer!

I always wear panty hose if I'm wearing a dress--except at my wedding. With a floor-length dress, I figured no one was going to be able to tell anyway. I did wear Spanx, though.

Off topic-ish. Spanx=gusset how the heck am I supposed to pee in those? Do people really pee through them? Yes I am looking for an actual graphic explanation, do I pull the sides apart and go, but when I let go of one side to grab toilet paper wont that side slide back over? This is gonna take some practice.

YES I AM. im wearing super thick legging type stockings and legwarmers so i dont freeze to death! I think i will take them off when we move inside for the reception.. but the thought of stomping around outside in the snow in a lace dress without stockings gives me frostbite.

@Dianne D., I hear you about heavier legs and chafing. Whenever I wear skirts or dresses, I use http://www.monistat.com/soothing-care-powder-gel

It works really well and I plan on using it also for the wedding day. Because it's such a long day, I'll probably toss it in my tote bag in case I need to reapply later. For the normal work day, once is enough.

No stockings for me on Saturday!

I can't even imagine anyone wearing stockings with a wedding dress...period. Perhaps I'm just too young and think stockings are only for work and church lol

@ Jamie-- I have heard the same way that it is recommended to pee in a wedding gown. By sitting the opposite way, and straddling the commode. Your spanx pee hole will open wider that way... just make sure you blot if you miss!
