Are you expected to tip independent contractor vendors?

I have makeup and hair coming tomorrow to my place, they don’t belong to any salon and they are also charging a travel fee. My photographer is his own business. Am I supposed to tip even though they dont belong to a salon? How much do I tip by percent?

It's customary to tip both of those vendors. Make-up/hair usually gets 20-25% of the total service, and photography gets both a vendor meal and 15-20% of the fee.

Makeup and hair usually tips between 18 to 20% for what i know your don’t have to tip the photographer but I might be wrong

Thanks all. I ended up tipping make-up and hair. I was looking around online and on forums from wedding photographers and it looks like the norm isn't to tip.
