Are you doing Flower Girl/Jr Bride Make-up

MRS_Mikec, on January 12, 2014 at 9:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Before booking my MUA I am thinking I will see if she will throw in my FG (my 6 yo daughter) for free or super discounted. I am not even sure what I would put on her. Should I put anything on her? My daughter is a totally princess and would love even the smallest makeup application which is another reason I want to do it. What are you doing? Thoughts? Lipstick and a little foundation maybe?

Jesse's girl are you putting makeup on your daughter?

Only about 10% of my brides do makeup for the flower girl and jr.bridesmaid. Typically they are the super large weddings. For the flower girl I will sometimes do glitter on the eyes, some mascara and lipgloss, which they love and it's just enough. Depending on the jr.bridesmaid they are usually charged the same amount as the regular bridesmaids because they take just as long to do makeup on. Most of the jr.bridesmaids I have done are in their mid to late teens.

IMO it's just not appropriate for young children to be wearing a full face of makeup so I decline to do it when asked.

I'm definitely not putting makeup on my little girl, by the time I get married she will be 5 so no way, I will put lip gloss on her though.

Glitter on the eyes and some lip gloss is really what I was thinking. I too don't really think a full make up application is needed.

Both of my FGs will be 5 1/2 by the time my wedding comes, and one of them is my daughter. I am not putting makeup on her, and I can guarantee the mother of my other FG won't be putting makeup on her daughter either. My daughter has really sensitive skin, so even glitter is unacceptable, and I think makeup on a girl that young is not cool. My Jr. BM is my cousin, who will be 10 1/2 by the time my wedding comes, and her mother doesn't even wear makeup, so the answer for her is no too, lol. Although, I do think glitter and a little blush is OK for a 10 1/2 year old.

I think my Flower Girl's mother would flip if we tried to put any make up on her. She is getting her hair done, though.

I will just be doing some lipgloss on my Future Step Daughter she will be 10. Her cheeks already have a rosy color. Will also get her hair and nails done so she feels pampered as well. Smiley smile

My JrBM is 9 and my Flower Girl is 5. I am doing hair for JrBM and the makeup is no charge (just a powder brush and lip gloss) and the flower girl will just be hair and some gloss. I want especially the JrBM to feel like she is the same as the other BM so I discussed with my MUA and she came up with the powder and gloss idea. They both dance competitively so they love getting makeup on but do not want them in full makeup for the wedding.

I am doing my junior bridesmaids make up. She's 12 and loves make up.

To do hair her and make up is $80 compared to the $130 I'm paying for the other bridesmaids.

My daughter is my JRBM shes 11. Our MUA will be doing hair and light makeup for her but nothing like an adult. She won't have fake lashes or anything like that. My daughter is a total tomboy always has her hair in a bun or pony tail. Always has on gym related clothing for sports. It will be nice to see the feminine side of her.

My niece who won't let herself be considered a JRBM will be 15 at the time and is getting hers done, but she does figure skating so she's used to having it done.

My flower girls were seven and four, the four year old got 'lipstick' (chapstick) and a clean blush brush because she wanted to put makeup on like the rest of us. The 7 year old got a tiny bit of shimmer powder and some lip gloss :-)

Maybe I'm weird but I don't think its a big deal. I put makeup on my jr bridesmaid who is 14 because she wanted it. I know thats a lot different than 6 but if I had a 6 year old flower girls who wanted makeup, I would put a light makeup on her, especially if she was my own daughter. A small amount of light colored eyeshadow or glitter, a bit of light blush and some tinted chapstick would be fine I think. My mom put a bit of makeup on me when I was in my cousins wedding at 7.. I didn't look like a clown or a pagent doll.

My FG will definitely want a little makeup. Her mom will do it, I'm sure.

But I am worried about lipstick/lipgloss. I remember someone posted a warning about cute little flower girls running up to hug you with their lipstick face pressing into your dress. YIKES!

I think that as a general rule flower girls are too young for makeup. They are fresh and adorable without a thing

My flower girls are two, so no!! But my daughter is 9, so I will have them do some lipgloss, blush, and mascara on her. My daughter's hair and makeup is free.
