Are you changing everything?

Ava, on March 26, 2021 at 8:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
For all you covid brides, are any of you finding yourselves completely changing your original wedding vision after postponing? We had pretty much everything planned/picked out when we postponed. But now as I’m picking up wedding planning again and looking through all my Pinterest inspiration boards, I am finding myself wanting to change everything! Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? Did you end up changing everything, or going with your original vision?

The only thing that I changed was my bridesmaid dresses. I love my wedding vision and even tho I postponed 3 times I still love it. I just didn’t like the bridesmaid dresses so i changed them but everyone was okay with that.

We're changing up a few things! We added a videographer and are in the process of switching to a different florist. Otherwise, there's a few minor things we're changing, but nothing that will cost anything (or if it does, very little cost), such as the ceremony script, our vows, adding something small to the centerpieces, etc. Everything else is staying the same. What are you looking at changing for your wedding?

Oh we definitely changed!! We went from ceremony and reception in one location, to now getting married in a church and I’m really happy about it! This logistics then changed, our shuttle service from the hotel now goes from the hotel to the church to the reception, and we added hours to our photographer package.

We're keeping things as they originally were. Although I'm still a little sad about the location (not original from very first plans), at least we still have a venue. It's non-profit and has a few perks so that's cool. Decor and such are still the same.

We have both decided to add things like additional guest entertainment, interactive hors d’oeuvre stations, and more flowers. But, as I am looking at my vision boards, I am underwhelmed by the decor and color scheme. It just feels very basic and expected. So now I am thinking of starting over completely with a whole new vibe and colors.

I am changing everything. That's why my profile says "just said yes". And I am having so much fun this time around. The last time was just miserable. The only thing not changing is the man, my dress, and my bridesmaids dresses cause they already bought them. Honestly I'd probably change my dress if I didn't love it so much even after buying it two years ago.

Thank you so much for sharing Sheila! This has definitely made me look at changing things up as a fun “fresh start”, rather than an overwhelming undertaking.
