I thought about this. When I mentioned it to my sister she flipped. Apparently that is her biggest pet peeve. She hates when girls don't wear their shoes the entire night. When I told her I thought flip flops are better than girls going bare foot, she responded with let her worry about that.

I think if you have room in the budget why not? If I wear them no one will know because of my dress.

Nope, falls in same category of paper straws. Waste of $$ in my eyes.

If I had room in the budget I would do this! Instead we are renting a dresser with the drawers taken out to make shelves. We're putting a sign on it that says "kick off your heels and dance!" (I got the idea on pinterest). I guess people going barefoot could be considered tacky, but we're outside and it's a super casual wedding anyway. Our pastor is wearing jeans.

I'd like to have about 25 pairs of "dancing shoes" on the table with the glow sticks and shutter shades. We shall see how pricing goes

We had cotton Mary Janes for guests instead of flip flops. It gave them something more comfortable than flip flops to wear for dancing. And unlike flip flops, they could be worn by guests who wore hose.

We are doing flip flops mostly because I live in flip flops all year round (they're my favorite article of clothing lol) and it goes really well with my Hawaiian theme. We're expecting about 90 guests and I got 26 pairs. I figure most people won't go for them and if by chance they are all taken, then people will just have to dance with whatever shoes they brought. I bought mine at Kmart for 50 cents each so for $13 I figured it wasn't a big deal. I then found some baskets for a couple bucks at goodwill so to me it is fun and worth it. Personally, I'm wearing flats because I don't like heels anyway. So I don't plan to do flip flops. After my sister got married she said she regretted not bringing a pair of shoes to change into. She is comfortable in heels and got a really comfy pair but even still, at the end of the night her feet were killing her since she had been on her feet all day.

Here are my flip flops (or as they call them in Hawaii...slippers).

I got slipper socks...from the assisted living store! Haha, 40 pairs for about $50 with shipping. I'm clumsy so it's almost a joke. And I'll totally wear them if they don't get used (we'll only have about 110 guests).

When I worked at Old Navy I had tons of brides buying flip flops in massive quantities for guests. I personally don't like the idea because I feel like it isn't my job to monitor my guests shoe situation.

No way. My average aged dancing guest will probably be 23. We wear heels all the time when we go out and always spend the night in heels. If anyone feels like it they can kick off their shoes and go barefoot, but I never saw the need for these. If you do it, please spend $1 or less on each pair, don't splurge for cute ones.

I am not for a few reasons:

-The guests are adults/or supervised by adults and they should know to bring extra shoes if they are wearing something uncomfortable.

-I don't want to pay for other's footwear

-Mainly my reasoning is that if my shoes are uncomfortable I just take them off and dance barefoot. I know this skeeves some people out but then those people should know to bring their own shoes.

I have seen this done before and even if I wanted to I can't participate. I have size 12 feet and that is not an option in the flip flop basket. So maybe I don't want to do it cause I am jealous of all the other people and their small feet.

Myself & my BMs are all wearing flat sandals since the wedding is in June & we all wanted shoes we could also wear after the wedding. I know of people who bought flip flops at the Old Navy sale for $1 & then bedazzled them for their BMs. You could always buy like 10-15 pairs in common sizes. Not everyone will take their shoes off but the few that will, can use the flip flops.

I bought flip flops for my bridesmaids but that's it! I didn't wanna fight the crowd on $1 day so I just waited until I got a coupon for old navy and then got them

We won't be. A) We're getting married in November in Nebraska... B) I have no idea how to even guess what I would need of each size & C) This wedding is costing too much as it is.

It sounds like a cute idea but we won't be doing it. My crowd isn't the high heel wearing type anyway lol.
