I thought about doing this at my wedding but I went to a friends wedding before mine and she had flip flops out. Not 1 person wore them so I definitely think it's a waste of $$

I did not. I felt it was a waste of money to get flip flops. I don't know what sizes to get, or how many to get, who all is going to use them...

Just too many variables I didn't want to spend all that money on something that would just get thrown away in the end.

When I go to parties or events I make sure to wear comfortable shoes or bring an extra pair for dancing. I'd expect my guests to do the same. One cousin mentioned the flip flop basket, but no one else even noticed that I didn't have one.

They aren't worth it. Don't bother.

Nope, we're all platform boot wearers, if anyone attending thinks they may need a more comfortable shoe, they can bring an extra pair along, i cant see spending the extra money on things that may not get utilized

We are not, I've never gone to a wedding that has had them, nor do I think they are appropriate for our formal event. I rather have our guests go barefoot on the dance floor if need be, which I know doesn't suit formal, but I rather it than flip flops lol!

If we were getting married on a beach, DW or even just having something laid back and more casual I would definitely provide flip flops; I think they are a nice gesture and can be super fun.

We are doing a pashmina basket for the ladies attending!

Haha for people saying they didn't want to spend the money, I really don't think $15 is a lot of money for something fun. I figured if I have 90 guests, only the women will probably wear flip flops, so that is about 45. Then maybe half of those women are older and won't really want to wear flip flops, so I got 26 pairs. With the deal at Kmart of 2 for $1, I spent $13. I just bought a salad the other day for $10, (yay for cost of living in Hawaii) so to me $13 plus the cost for the baskets was nothing. It's not like I was spending $100. If I was that'd be ridiculous.

I do however see other points people are making of how they don't feel they have to or that they don't think their group of friends would use them. I'm just trying to point out that the cost shouldn't be a big issue.

For those wondering about the Old Navy sale, that happened on June 28 last year according to my email archive. I bought my flip flops from Kmart on June 23 which is when they were running the 2 for $1 deal.

Not doing this. I think flip flops are tacky! I am letting my BM choose their own shoes (within some parameters) so they can get something they will be comfortable in. Guests are adults, and should wear shoes that they can walk and dance in, knowing they will be at an event for several hours!

I am doing the Dr.Scholls fast flats that come in its own bag. Why cause I always carry mine when I go out dancing, even if I only wear them to walk to the car. There are times I wanna be cute and don't bring them (torture) or I forget them. So I'm having them for guests.

@HiH I'm a flip flop girl like you. I hate wearing shoes so it seemed only natural to provide flip flops for our guests
