Are chair covers necessary?

I was just wondering if you ladies think chair covers are necessary? I go back and forth about buying them so I thought I'd get some of your opinions! Thanks!

I think chair covers make it more elegant and pull everythin together. My chairs weren't bad, but did NOT match my color scheme which just didn't sit well with me. Of course, it only cost me $450 to get them too. I loved the end look I got!

It depends on how nice the chairs are. I've seen some nice venues with nasty chairs. And sometimes the covers are uglier than the chairs.

We're having chair covers because, even though the chairs at our venue are brand new (the ballroom was just built this past summer), the frickin chairs don't match our colors. I usually hate chair covers, but as long as my DOC doesn't tie big-a$$ bows with the sashes, I'll live...

    Hi Margo,

I think chair covers are necessary only if you are tying to cover up an unsightly flaw on the chairs. As demonstrated above there are plenty of beautiful ways to decorate the chair without covering the entire chair.

Ichhhh i hate them!!! as long as you don't have some ugly chairs don't get them! they're very old fashioned. More used today are the white wood ones or even the bamboo chairs. Much more modern, so save money and please don't go back to the 90s Smiley smile

I'm stuck in the same situation don't know if I should get them or not. The venue has brown folding chairs my colors are tangerine, watermelon and white. I was trying to think of something to do without having to use covers...some if anyone has some ideas I'm all ears...

Definitely not necessary. Of course the chairs should be nice looking, but also if you use shorter chairs, like folding type chairs they wont really be seen over the table so it wont matter even more.

They're not necessary as long as you have really decent chairs, but if they're not then you'll probably need them. I personally hate chair covers, we're going with chiavari chairs since the venue includes them with our package for free

It would depend on what you really want. If you have nice chairs. then i wouldn't bother with chair covers esp if you want a photo booth. Get what you really want.

The chairs at my venue are Burgundy but nice and my colors are pink, black silver, and white. Do you think I should cover the chairs or can I get away with it. We're having a Champagne Brunch early wedding ending by 4:30p. Here is a picture of our venue and it's beautiful. I might save the money for our honeymoon, because when it's all said and done NO ONE really cares if I have them or not, because the seats are not the main focus "WE ARE". I've been to weddings with them and without. I thought I really wanted them, because pictures do look good with them, but there so many great pictures to take at my wedding in the out door garden, inside the venue I doubt my photographer is going to focus on seat covers and the guest will be out doors on the patio. Let me know what you think either or?

It depends on what the chairs look like. Old, maroon or green chairs from the 80s should be covered up. If you can't cover the chairs at least put a sash on each one, this helps. There are a lot of companies that will rent you sashes for cheap. Here is one in new york: http://chaircoversnewyork.com

They have sashes for $0.50. It's a good deal and makes the chairs look less ugly Smiley smile
