Anyone heard of this for the garter toss?

I've never heard of the bride sitting on the best man's lap for this.

Never heard of that, and I can say that I will definitely not be sitting on my best mans lap!

I've only seen it where the best man gets down on all fours and the bride sits on his back. A friend of mine did this and I thought it was weird but kind of cute if you didn't have a chair. but Nah I'd rather sit in a chair. I'm fat. Lol. No way am I sitting on FH best man's lap. That's strange.

I have never heard of this before. There is no way I am siting on my FFIL's back or lap! That would be beyond awkward and wrong!

My FH and his best man tried to convince me that the BEST MAN takes the garter off the bride's leg... UM... NO! They still say I don't know what I'm talking about and every time I threaten to find a million YouTube videos that say otherwise. Either way, I don't care for this tradition and won't be doing it.

That is the strangest thing I've ever heard - I've heard of stting on the best man's back but not in his lap. The best man's a great guy and all but there is no way that that will happening at my wedding (lap or back) - and I sure have no intention of kissing him.

I think that is in really bad taste. I have never seen or heard of that. I also think it would make people feel uncomfortable.

Uh...that is completely inappropriate and I have never heard of it! What a horrible way to start your marriage. Our best man is great but he will NOT be receiving a kiss or having me sit on his lap!

I'm doing the garter toss, but i never heard of sitting on the BM lap, that is so wrong in so many ways, i'm going to sit on a chair like everyone else. to me the crazy thing is when you catch the bouquet and you have to let that guy go up your dress to put it on it was so wrong the both times i did it lol

I wouldn't sit on the BM lap, he's one of FH and my best buddies like a brother to both of us.

No, never heard of the bride sitting on the best man's lap. I would never do that cause one I wouldn't want to and second, our best man is married.

I also have seen it where the best man gets on his hands and knees and the bride sits on his back While the groom takes it off her. I kind of thought it was a cool idea, and am going to be doing it

Many times I have seen the best man go down on one knee and the bride sits on his knee while the groom gets the garter. It wasn't creepy. It just depends on the relationship of the bride/groom and best man, I guess.
