Anyone have a template or website to organize song request list for DJ?

Nicole, on April 17, 2013 at 4:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

FH and I have been writing down songs we want played at the wedding but they are all over scrap paper, iphone notes, wherever!!! I could just make an excel spread sheet with must play or do not play, but just wanted to see if anyone had anything better! One of my friend's DJs has a site that she can search for a song and then add to her playlist with a must play, play if able, and do not play checkbox. Of course my DJ doesn't have this! But maybe there's a free site out there somewhere...

How are you organizing your music requests for your DJ? Anyone have a template? Or a website?

Nothing that fancy. I was just going to email him a list. I know of other DJ services where you log into their system and basically add songs to your account.

My DJ provided us our own login on his page where we can do the music lists, as well as when to play what. It's so nice. I'm sure there are online ones though, I would be surprised if there weren't!

What about using itunes possibly? Do you have an iphone? I can't think of any other website that helps with that. Good luck!!

Print that sheet. A good rule of thumb is DON'T mark everything. Your DO NOT play list can be 5-10 long, and maybe say "no rap" or "no country" (though if you do, I ask them to mark any country or rap songs they would enjoy, so I can still play 1-3, if any). Your MUST PLAY list should also max out at 5-10, but you can always stretch it out. Then mark songs you like. I always tell folks, mark as many as you like, it just means I'll be picking from amongst songs I know you enjoy.
