Anyone else spending $500 or less on your dress?

Sarah, on September 4, 2019 at 6:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 4 97
I'm trying to spend $800 total on my wedding outfit. I want to save budget for shoes, accessories, and alterations, so I feel like I should be looking for a dress that's $500 or less. Has anyone found a dress in that price range or is that way too little??

It is definitely possible! I got mine for 470 without alterations (but it fit pretty well so I’m not expecting too much work)! I went to a small bridal shop since I wanted the experience for my family, but there are some sites online that has lots of positive reviews!

My dress was $550 including tax, from DB. Alterations were $35 (!), and I spent about $40 buying the supplies to make my necklace, earrings and hair comb.

My dress was 299 At David's Bridal. I haven't had alterations yet, but I don't think they'll be to bad. I made sure to order my actual size, and not the size I hope i'll be. Not setting myself up for heartbreak. If I happen to lose weight the dress has a corset back

I am in a few wedding groups on facebook. One of the brides in Chicago is selling her dress at an unbeatable rate! Under 500 it's gorgeous. I goggled it and it's well over 3k original price... She is going to ship it to me for 25$. I'm super excited about that. I can then focus on my shoes, hair, accessories, and my reception dress that I plan to get custom made both combined under my original budget.

My dress was $299, belt $50, alterations $315. All from David’s Bridal. I got my shoes for $20 (on sale) when Payless was closing. Jewelry and garter from amazon for $25. I felt like I was doing really well til I saw the alterations price. I go for my fitting tomorrow, so here’s to hoping everything was done properly!

Definitely do-able, DB has a great selection.. I wanted to be around 500 but did not want to spend more than 1000... I ended up spending 900, but I absolutely fell in love with the dress.. I did try on other dresses that were in the 500 range
