Anyone doing both Matron of honor AND Maid of honor?

Rita , on November 29, 2016 at 2:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 69

I have 7 potential bridesmaids. Including 2 of my closest friends. One is married, the other is not. I don't want to choose between them. Is it odd to have both matron AND Maid of honor? Any one considering the same? How is that going for you?

I decided to only have one & not two. I was in a wedding where the bride had both & they both competed on who's ideas were better for the bachelorette weekend & bridal shower. It actually got a little awkward for the bride at times. But...I'm sure it's different for everyone. In this situation I would just say go with your gut. I'm sure it'll be fine either way.

I am having both and have not had an issue...as far as I'm concerned the only factor is that one is married and the other isn't...they are both awesome women and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I'm having both! My best friends are twins, and of course I couldn't just choose one. One is already married, so I'll have a maid and a matron.

I am having my sister be my Matron of Honor and my best friend of 12 years be my MOH. So far it's been great - two is better than one (financially for each of them as well because not just one has the burden of buying everything for the shower, bachelorette party, etc)

I had two MOH's and it worked out great! They also became good friends because of it.

I have two, my cousin (matron) and her adult daughter (maid). i couldn't choose between the two because the three of us do everything together, even go on vacations, so I choose both! aside from occasionally forgetting to update one or the other its been great!

I've known a few people who have done this! I myself am having 2 maids of honor. It hasn't caused any issues, competitive or otherwise.

Yup! My sister is my matron of honor. My best friend from college will be my maid of honor. Since my sister is older (18 years older than me!), she's throwing the shower and my best friend is organizing my bachelorette

I had both! There was no way I could pick between my two closest friends. It wasn't awkward at all, and (I think) both of them had fun.

Once they say yes, I will have one of each. My twin sister will be the Matron OH (she's getting married 5 months before me) and my younger sister will be the MOH.

I am having a matron of honor and maid of honor. I have two sisters, one who is married and the other is 13 years old. I don't think she would have been upset not being maid of honor because she would have been a bridesmaid but I asked her anyway. I haven't had any issues. Where I am from it is pretty common to do both.

Im doing both! I have my best friend since I was younger being the matron of honor and my recent close friend being the maid of honor. I couldnt pick between the two and my friend who will be matron of honor is actually getting married a few months ahead of me so instead of putting a lot of pressure on her to do all of that plus my wedding, I told her she can help with whatever she can but isn't being asked to go above and beyond. I just couldnt imagine either of them as only bridesmaids.
