Anybody else worried future hubby won't like their dress?

He's been dreaming of this day for over 20 years. He's pictured a long white dress, full veil, etc... Well, I chopped it, added a champagne sash and bolero. My veil is more mid-back. I'm not sure it feels or looks very bridal, and I am starting to worry it's gonna totally let him down, and he won't...

Is anybody else worried about FH reaction to their dress?

Listen, I know you don't have to like everything that everyone posts, but there's not reason to let O&S's comment "take the wind out of your sails". It has nothing to do with how you will look or feel in your dress. It shouldn't ruin your confidence. If it does, its because you're letting it, and also making it into something that it is not.

Don't assign additional meaning to it. You will only hurt yourself

He typically isn't disappointed in my choice of attire whether I'm going to work, the gym, or out on a Saturday night. It honestly never crossed my mind that it might not live up to his expectations.

Not in the least. He even said he will love it because I'll be wearing it and my heart melted.

I admit I listened to some of FH's preferences. He said he did not want me in an enormous poofy gown, and wanted it to be "sexy." So a mermaid dress it is!

Nope. His only request was "fitted". I got fitted! One and done lol. Yours should be fine, I'm sure you will look stunning.

Wow OP...if that little thing affected you THAT much I suggest maybe taking a step back from all forums for a little while. And I say that kindly and for your sake.

As for your question, FH was (somewhat) involved in the dress process. I went to a small boutique by our undergrad University with him and one girl friend and tried on different shapes and styles to get a feel for we both liked. I did this with him one more time (second time was him and Mom). After that all dress shopping was just Mom and I, though I showed dresses I liked to FH and eventually found: A) he liked whatever I liked; B) his favorite shapes were trumpet and ballgowns; and C) he liked rouching.

I showed him a few dresses we had picked out from one boutique with me wearing them, but didn't tell him which one I picked. Well, he ended up saying his favorite was the one I picked! I didn't react at all to his choice and just shrugged and said okay, it doesn't have any rouching at all and I love it and so does he.

BUT, he also told me that he would have loved me walking down in a potato sack lol. Some men want to be very involved in the dress choice because they want to like it too, I happened to want him somewhat involved in this way, but for FH it wasn't necessary. And I feel like for most men it won't matter, what matters is that the wedding is happening, and then the stress is finally over and you start your lives together.

Not at all! I know he will love whatever I pick because he loves me in anything. Even on the days I think I look hideous , he still thinks I'm beautiful. I'm sure your FH is the same way

I think it's so weird when brides let their FH pick their dresses or the style

Did you explain your concern to him??? FH pictured me in a mermaid style dress that show off my shape as he love it.

However, I explained him that I don't like modern style dresses and he said it's okay you will look beautiful in any style you choose.

I'm pretty sure he won't be disappointed

The dress? Nope. He did tell me though, he'd like my hair down for the wedding. We'll see!

@O&S - you slay me, girl. I'm dead over here.

OP: Comments made by O&S are jokes, not dicks. Don't take them so hard.

I wouldn't worry at all. He will be happy seeing you. Mine did make one small request... no bird cage. So no bird cage. Wasn't in my plans anyway, but that was an easy one. Don't worry!

This is one thing i haven't stressed about at all. I know he'll love whatever i'm wearing as long as i'm happy. Hell he probably won't even remember what my dress looks like LOL I've done dramatic hairstyle changes and he won't notice for 3-4 days! I don't think your outfit will really matter as long as you are happy and marrying the love of your life!!!

Nope. Literally didn't even cross my mind.

I'm absolutely sure that in no universe will your FH be thinking "Wow an ivory dress would have been much more flattering" or whatever when you are walking down the aisle. He is going to be in awe that he gets to marry you and spend the rest of his life with you.

I know FH will love whatever I am wearing but I worry about this all the time. Especially since my dress isn't in yet and I can't try it on to reassure myself that I really love it.
