Anybody else worried future hubby won't like their dress?

He's been dreaming of this day for over 20 years. He's pictured a long white dress, full veil, etc... Well, I chopped it, added a champagne sash and bolero. My veil is more mid-back. I'm not sure it feels or looks very bridal, and I am starting to worry it's gonna totally let him down, and he won't...

Is anybody else worried about FH reaction to their dress?

Not at all. After buying my dress, FH made a comment about another ladies dress on TV being too "poofy", and how he doesn't get the huge dramatic dresses

So he pretty much answered the question for me, since my dress is a sheath dress with no poof haha, but I just sat quietly and I think he's afraid that he might have offended me.

But I was always under the impression that a guy imagined his bride with a huge train and lots of poof, so I was a little worried at first

I know my FH will be happy with whatever but I'm still worried that he won't love the dress I went over budget to get. He was 100% okay with me going over but I still worry it won't be everything he wanted. I think he thought I would go with something more sexy and formfitting and I went for the poofy ballgown. He does get some cleavage though with the sweetheart neckline. Smiley winking

FH wanted sleeves on me and the bridal party. He likes "modesty". I'm going strapless and sleeveless.

As long as YOU know you look gorgeous in your dress, he'll feel the same!

I was a little concerned, but his expression the second he turned around (at the first look) was amazing! There's so much pent up emotion that he'll love you in whatever you're in. Even if it's not exactly what he envisioned, he'll probably forget that the second he sees you.

I'm terrible at keeping secrets so I've already showed him. It's short, satin, fitted and shows off my rear end. He's good. Lol. Your FH is going to love your dress choice because he loves you...and I've seen pics of your dress on here and it's gorgeous <3

I'm sure all of our FHs will love how we look when we walk down the aisle. We don;t need to worry about it.

At first, I was concerned because he always makes fun of my clothing (I wear a lot of lace and floral in my every day attire) He's made remarks that I'm a stylish grandma. lol My dress is all lace in floral print...hopefully he likes it and doesn't describe me as a stylish grandma bride!

He tells me everyday that I'm going to be the most beautiful bride...then he adds, "I can't wait to see you walking down the aisle in your spandex dress". LOL

O&S, was that really necessary? I was just getting up for the first time today, and reading over all the replies, that really put my mind at ease, and feel better. I remembered how the David's Bridal people flipped over my dress and the changes I had made.... but you know, FH is a guy, so it's different. Then, I get to the last page, 2nd reply from the bottom, and my stomach kind of sinks, and I feel like someone just took the air out of my sails. Kind of like walking through the hallway at school and feeling pretty cute in what you're wearing and then some girl passes and laughs or makes some under her breath remark. I was smiling up till that point, and what did I do to deserve a snarky comment about The Knot?? Ask some stupid question about inspiration boards? Because WW doesn't seem to have that on here? I deserved snark based on a totally different thread I started days ago?? For an adult woman that just seems beneath her. Regardless, the fact remains WW has everything else in spades... the better planning tools, and the better FORUM. I know there are brides here with accounts at both for varying reasons. Some because they prefer their wedding websites, some to check it out in the initial planning stages... there is nothing wrong with that. If you are still upset about some question I asked days ago about The Knot, I'm sorry... It obviously offended you, if you felt it necessary to bring that up on a totally different thread days later.

To everyone else, thank you SO much... it's so nice to hear that there are other brides with this worry/concern too. Makes me realize it wasn't stupid to feel that way. As I read the replies I was nodding, you all are right. He'd feel the same way. But I think as women, we tend to over think things- especially when it comes to our looks and other peoples opinions. Most especially the person whose opinion we care most about. The funny thing is, I am sure they don't worry about what WE think!! LOL

Wasn't worried at all. DH and I have very similar taste.

ETA: just read the overdramatic response.

No. He's not a 10-year-old girl, so he hasn't been dreaming about this.

FH couldnt tell the diffence between white, ivory, champagne, blush, etc. if it hit him square in the face. Nor a ballgown vs a-line vs whatever else. So no, I'm not really worried.

My dress shows cleavage and *I* feel beautiful in it, so he'll be thrilled by default.

    Also, holy overreaction, batman.

@Ameline Girls are not the only ones who have future thoughts about their significant other in a wedding dress. I think most men do have an idea of what they would like to see their bride in
