Anybody doing Day of wedding TIMELINES for out of town guest bags?

Strwpink, on January 22, 2012 at 4:01 PM Posted in Planning 1 14

So I came across these adorable timelines on ETSY and I'm wanting to order some for my guests bags. Are any of you guys doing something like this and if so could you share I'm totally open for other ideas as well.

    I think it's a cute idea!

I am probably not doing OOT bags at all, b/c our guests seem to be scattering themselves in different hotels all over the city. Which is obviously 100% fine, I'm just not going to drive around for hours trying to track them all down.

We have a shuttle too, we're putting the pickup time and location on our "information" insert of the invitation.

Hahaha yeah that probably would be a big pain in the butt! I'm only leaving these at one hotel that I'm assuming everyone's staying at considering we reserved a block of rooms at an amazing price so let's hope that is exactly whats going to happen Smiley smile

We didn't do anything this cute :-) but we did include a timeline into OOT bags. It was a free VP postcard with the schedule. This is super cute though!

We'll be doing a vistaprint rack card for our insert with our OOT brochures that have things to see/do/eat

we don't have the timeline ready yet, but the brochures have been ordered (and are being shipped from Belgium/Belgian Post)

Don't pay etsy.... you can design and print them yourself.... or upload to VP and have them do 100 free postcards for $6.50

We modeled ours from the wedding timeline template that (I think) Kimi posted recently. I have been working in Microsoft Publisher for well over 10 years and I just can't see paying someone to design something that I can do for free! I designed my own programs, menus, reception cards, escort cards, wedding newsletter, and invitations...probably some other stuff I'm forgetting! =)

If you ladies want something that's not too complicated, I'd be glad to design something for free. I also did my girlfriend's OOT timeline and reception timeline cards to be placed on the plates at the reception. =)

Since we're having a DW our events cover an entire 2 days rather than just 1. We're including an informational packet with each box for our guests. This way they know exactly what we've got planned and when they need to be somewhere :o)

    Here's the link-a-roo to the packet I'm using! http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/08/07/the-packet/

@ Jennifer - if it is in your budget, you can make little welcome bags for your hotel guests. (not a necessity if not in the budget)

In the upper right hand side, you will see a blue google box. If you type in OOT bags it will pull up tons of old discussions if you want to read a few to see other people's bags or ideas.

examples of what can go in the bag....

    www.dollartree.com bag or basket

*water bottle (personalized labels are an option)

    *snack (crackers, microwave popcorn, nuts)

    *deck of cards

    *map of the city

*flyers or menus of some of your favorite local places to eat

*a small sample of a food special to your area/town

*itinerary of events they can attend (time and location for rehearsal dinner if you are inviting them)

    *sun screen if destination wedding

    *tylenol or advil

    Etc...

We will have a few OOT guests but we most likely will not do any OOT bags/timelines. But the ideas given here sound great Smiley laugh
