Any pale brides struggling with staying au naturale or getting a fake tan?

Anonymous, on May 31, 2012 at 4:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

So I have a pretty fair complexion or what my family calls it, "pasty." I have light hair, light eyes and light skin. Between my job and school I am never outside. I could easily lay out by a pool but for the last few years I have actively avoided doing sun damage since my father had skin cancer (I figured that this probably increased my chances of getting it). Now that I am at wedding time I have played around with getting the idea of getting a "glow" with a spray tan. However, at the same time, I feel like it wouldn't be me. Last night I did a trial run of hair and make-up and loved how my skin looked. Anyone else struggling with this type of conflict. I would love to see any recent pale brides who rocked their look.

I am so very pale that I did consider a spray tan but on me they always come out with an orange underside so I am nixing that idea. Have not had my makeup trial yet so am waiting to see if we can maybe "warm" my skin up a bit without having it look made-up.

I'm very fair with auburn hair and green eyes and I don't tan well (I burn). I did a spray tan for my sister's wedding in March and it looked ok, but it came off on some fabric so I would be worried about my wedding dress. My dress is ivory lace over champagne and looks great on my fair skin so I might just keep it the way it is and just have the MUA give me a healthy "glow"

I am pretty pale but I have dark hair. I plan on tanning a couple of months before our wedding, but def. not a spray tan. I tan very well during the summer and I have been told that it looks natural on me.

I have an average caucasian skin tone -- not fair but not tan either. What do you call that? Anyway, I'm trying not to get more than one shade darker before my wedding. I spend a lot of time outside, so I think even with sunscreening it up all the time I'll get a little tan, but I'm wanting to stay "pale" for my pictures! I think it looks more elegant and timeless to have your natural skin tone, but that's just me.

I will be embracing the pasty white girl within (and out).

I have to spray tan for ballroom comps and I feel like I look funny for the months until it finally comes off. I am pale, not tan.

I'm pale too and decided to accept that as a fact of life. I did a couple of days of Jergens gradual moisturizer because that really just gives a hint of tan. More just to look alive type thing.

I went tanning twice a week for 7 or 8 minutes. I can tan really well, but My husband is really light. My sister has skin cancer too.

I embraced my outer pastiness. Although my seamstress told me to "go outside for the afternoon and get some sun" lol.

I am what you might call "transparent." I plan to just rock it. I'll have my MUA use her tricks to make me look all glowy and wonderful.

Im white as a ghost and I was thinking about getting a spray tan but I didn't get one and I looked great in my dress it didn't make me look any paler then I already am. I was nervous about that happening but even more nervous about sweating and the spray tan running which can happen

I'll be trying to get just a shade darker than my normal pasty white color for our wedding lol. It's more for the honeymoon than the wedding though. I burn really easy and if I try to go to Jamaica without have some sort of base color I will burn the first day!

I am also quite pale and do not typically tan. I contemplated tanning last year when I was in my friend's wedding. However, once I got going, I thought I just looked unnatural. I am pale and proud!! heehee I have learned to embrace my pale complexion (which is why I am wearing an ivory dress with a tiny bit of gold detail instead of a white one)
