We're doing a mostly costal menu but only doing heavy hors d'ouvres... Cocktail Shrimp, Oysters raw and grilled, steamer clams w/ garlic and herbs, cream cheese smoked salmon on brochette, grilled scallops wrapped in prochutto. Also doing chicken terriaki spears, stuffed shrooms, and bbq pulled pork for the non-seafood eaters....

You could do crab cakes too... If your doing dinner seafood linquini is always a hit, halibut, mahi mahi tacos, man I love seafood!!!!

I think the most universal fish for weddings a white flaky fish like scrod or sole...but...boring! you get baked stuff scrod at weddings all over the place and I think it's over done. We're doing salmon and monkfish at our seafood station, and during cocktail hour we're having a raw bar with shrimp, oysters, lobster tail, clams...yum. There is NO WAY I'm missing all of cocktail hour for photos!! Salmon is a pretty hard fish to mess up...and halibut is another favorite of mine too. sworfish is great, and sea bass...but those are a little controversial (and expensive)

You have so many options!! If you want to check out the menu for my venue for some ideas, they have a lot of great seafood options: www.wequassettinn.com

I would think you would want to stick with seafood native to Hawaii. That way you can ensure it's fresh (as opposed to having Maine lobster frozen and shipped in, etc.)

We were in Hawaii in May and loved Opah. Mild white fish, and it can be served in so many way.

I think I ate 5 peoples share of fish tacos and fish nachos while there. I could not get enough of them.

    OR

How about a luau? Native to the islands, great food and wonderful memories.

    Best Wishes

I don't have any suggestions other than what has been posted already but I do have an advisory.... Seafood is a very common allergy so make sure to have something that they can eat as well.

My favorite seafood dish is sushi. That can get pretty expensive, but what about some veggie rolls or california rolls for appetizers?
