Another type of centerpiece to mix and match?

MrsO, on March 5, 2012 at 8:56 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

I bought a bunch of wooden birdcages to use as centerpieces. We plan on having our florist fill them. I only have 8 cages as that was what was available when I ordered them. I imagine I am going to have more than 8 tables. Although new cages are added every now and then from where I purchased them (save-on-crafts), I could buy more but I didn't have wonderful customer service with my last transaction (problem still hasn't even been acknowledged by them) so I don't want to give them any more of my business.Unfortunately they are the only place I have found that sells wooden birdcages (I don't want metal).

So I'm trying to figure out another type of centerpiece that I could mix and match. Some tables with birdcages. Some tables with something else. However I don't know what. I was planning on just a plain floral centerpiece however my FMIL mentioned that the other centerpiece would "have to be as grand as the birdcage," so I don't know what to do.

Here is my birdcage and inspiration.

Oh and my birdcage will be painted a different color. I just havent gotten around to it yet. It will be the light blue from this palette, not the tiffany blue that it is now.

I am doing glittered manzanita branches with crystals hanging from them and then flowers in the base, with candles around it as my other centerpiece. Something like that would look good with the birdcages I think. This is what it looks like by itself, I added peonies to the base though.

SemiSweet I was going to suggest the same things. That is what I am doing also. I think they would go great with the birdcages.

I too was going to suggest manzanita branches or a flowering branch. You could try that. Or you could try branches in jars for a softer look.
