Ditching. Hopefully the cake will be gone (or close to it) by the end of the reception. Any cake left over is going to our room & will be devoured after the after party

We originally wanted to save the top tier for our anniversary but we ate it as soon as we got back from our honeymoon! We thought it would be nasty after sitting in the freezer for that long. No regrets! Haha

Since we are probably not having a cake there won't be a top layer to save

Ours is in a box and wrapped in saran wrap in our freezer right this minute. It came as part of the package with our cake.

I'm thrilled, I barely got to eat the cake - I was on the dance floor most of the night.

We're going to try, but if it doesn't turn out right (the day of or a year from now) it's no big deal.

Ditch... Serve the cake while it's good, order a small cake from the bakery a year later... You get the essence of the tradition and good cake

We are passing on the stake cake tradition. We will just buy a small cake for our anniversary.

Originally we were not going to do this because we decided on doing cupcakes. However, our families were set on us doing this, so we did decide to give in and do it for them.

Doing, it all boils down to how you save your cake. Wrapping in plastic wrap and then foil, and then... Wrapping again in freezer paper keeps your cake beautifully. ( I know from prior experience) Smiley winking

Ditching! We're getting the Chantilly cake from Whole Foods so we will just buy a small one on our anniversary. My brother and his wife DID keep their top tier. They said it was super gross. Smiley heart

We didn't save the top tier, because the bakery we got our cake from will remake the top tier of our cake for our first anniversary!

Ditch. I think it's a nice idea, but we don't have the space and I can't imagine it saving well enough to be worth the effort.
