My mom thinks we have gone off my rocker . I just love the clean, crisp, modern look of a all white affair. I even want my guest to where all white as well.

It's not just your wedding. If you want it to be just your wedding, invite two witnesses who will wear white and elope.

All white events are very common around here, so majority of my guest would know ! I had a all white birthday party last year and no one came in any other colors but white. For people that never been to a color event before wouldn't understand. The dress code is very casual , I'm not asking them to wear white suits. Ladies can where a nice sun dress and guys can wear a nice button down and linen pants. The reception is on a yacht and more of a party feel than wedding feel .

I like your idea. I disgree with the other ladies. If someone gets a black tie invitation, they show up in a black tie, i dont see how white would be any different.

Did you get your dress yet? Because i totally think a BLUSH dress on you would look AWESOME! That way you could still stand out.

I don't like being a prop at someone else's event. I want someone to want me at their wedding because of our close relationship. Not so I can be dressed as decoration for their wedding. I'd personally decline.

Black tie is one thing because it is the formality. I hate the idea of being told what color to wear though, and given only one option at that.

In all three of the pictures you used for proof of an all white wedding I see people in colored clothing.

    @Abby: I'm still looking for my dress ! I know I want a lot of bling , bling !

@MrsO: My guest aren't props at my wedding, it called a theme. Just like a Halloween or renaissance wedding. You would want your guest to fit with the theme.

All my friends understand and get the idea, I guess that all that matters. Even my grandma wants to wear white .

@MJ: I don't know what pictures you looking at . But I see no one with color clothing on . #wiping screen Majority of the people in the 2nd pic have on white or khakis.

Hey BoatBride my mama is from Homestead Smiley smile I actually thought 1st off that its such a Miami thing so it'd be super cool if you lived there and you do! My intuition is good today i guess.

Some people just have an issue with themes. I got the same reaction about my 50's theme saying it will look like a kids party because i have polka dots as colors. But i don't see it being any different than how some women have a pink explosion everywhere.

I've seen some wedding shows where they do an all white wedding so it is possible. In the Miami scene i'm sure it'll be a big hit and if you love it then that's all that matters. Lots of people here in like OC and LA do white parties too so its not unheard of. I think its more shocking if you were in a smaller city, but i think its a good idea.

I don't think it's that people have problems with themes. I think the problem IS the theme... I have a theme and no one has been negative towards it. In this case I don't see anything wrong with an all white wedding as long as the bride doesn't get mad if someone doesn't wear white. (in the photo's 2nd photo has a few men in grey suits, their I see two women in shirts with designs that are not full white shirts). I personally don't wear white it would make me feel uncomfortable in a regular dress (wedding dresses have a nack for making anyone look good) but regular outfits not much.

I dont know. It seems like not liking the dress code is a stupid reason to decline. Sounds childish. I would buy something white but if I didnt wear it already I would not spend much on it. (I have a 30$ white dress that is cute enough for a wedding) Guys Could wear a white shirt and really light tan pants and it wouldn't look bad at all. For my hubby I would do white polo and white shorts probably

Neither of my wedding dresses were/are white because its not a color that flatters me. I don't own a white dress, nor would I buy one just because I was a guest.

I can't see FH wearing all white either.

If we're expected to travel, bring a gift, possibly pay for accommodations etc, we wouldn't be buying new outfits.

If your guests are cool with it, then go for it. It's just not something I'd get into.

I'm just confused why you asked if you are crazy if you are set on it..if it's common in your area and people do it in your circle, I guess it's not a problem. If it were me as a guest I'd def add in a pop of color though like a bright necklace though :-)

I officiated an all-white wedding (I wore white blouse & long black skirt). Guests were in white, ivory, tan, khaki. Bride wore a ballgown in sunset colors (pink, yellow, orange).

I agree with not understanding the point of asking for people's opinions if its an idea you're already set on. People have given you their opinions and you get defensive when people don't automatically agree with you. If you don't really want opinions don't ask a question; just make the statement you're going to make, but know if you post it on an open forum you're going to get opinions anyway.

That being said, white parties aren't that uncommon. It certainly wouldn't be the first time I've heard of one or even been to one. And I really wouldn't have a problem throwing on a white sundress, especially in south Florida.

Just know that some adults will take offense being told what to wear (as the previous comments have shown).

I agree with what most everyone else is saying. I agree with Ab-not sure why you're asking if it's common in your area, and the people in your circle get it, and you've done it before. As far as "it's called a theme," we're all aware of what a theme is-most of us have one. I have a theme, but I'm not requiring my guests to where anything specific. I get throwing it out there, but I would never require my guests to wear a certain color.

I personally would never do a white theme because I like color. To me all white is boring, but that is my opinion.

I agree that it looks great, but you will get people rolling your eyes at you. A friend of mine has been complaining non-stop that he was asked to wear certain colours to a wedding this summer (and the colours requested were easier to come by than white.)

If you really want all the guests in white, then you can request it, but don't be surprised when you get people walking in in black suits.

I just saw both your photos and see men in brown pants, and women in black tops (in the dancing photo) - as long as you are okay with the occasional guest not participating in the theme then go for it. I would still attend a white wedding, but FH probably wouldn't (unless he was SUPER close to the bride/groom.) He hates wearing light coloured pants with a passion and going shopping for them would probably be the end of the discussion.

I saw on all white wedding on some television show a while back. Of course, the white theme didn't extend to the guests, but it was the only color used in the ceremony/reception areas.

Actually, I thought the bridesmaids, in their off the shoulder, fitted, gowns featuring a glittering brooch, were a gorgeous prelude to the bride. She approached the aisle in a white bridal gown that was fuller and more elaborate than her maids. All together, they looked fantastic, and there was no mistaking who the bride was. I actually loved it, and I'm glad I saw it.

If you want to go for this look, I think it would be gorgeous. Just realize that it shouldn't really extend beyond bridal/wedding elements.
