Alternative Engagement Rings/wedding Bands for Woc & Moc

I know diamond and white gold is becoming a standard nowadays for commitment jewelry...

But I've always gravitated towards the slightly eclectic, esoteric, borderline quirky type of jewelry - basically something different. My promise, engagement, and wedding band are in that same vein.

Being a black woman who fanatical about jewelry, something that still kind of bums me out is that when my now husband and I were looking for this type of jewelry (for him too) all we saw were non-POC (people of color). It seemed only white gold and diamonds in various traditional shapes were shown for both women and men of color. This was also my experience when ring shopping. For instance, I like a rosier rose gold, but didn't have any pictures to really pull inspiration from - THUS there was some trial and error lol

Anyways it's nice to feel represented...and with that intention in mind...

Where are my brides/fiancee & grooms/fiances of color with alternative wedding, promise, anniversary, and/or engagement rings?

Please share and give details on some the rings

Your rings are gorgeous and definitely unique! I’m also a POC and share the same sentiment. I just didn’t love how most rings looked like on my finger - white gold / platinum with a white stone felt too flashy for me and it popped too much against my tan skin.

Sooo I was really EXCITED when I found a local jeweler who specializes in alternative bridal and engagement jewelry! I picked an emerald cut champagne diamond with two small white diamond side stones set on a tapered gold band. I LOVE IT. Its low key because it blends in with my skin tone a little bit but it packs a punch when you look at it closely. I’m a size 4 and my center stone is 1.12 It changes color in different lighting!!!

I love colored gems. I wanted a Ruby and so I chose that for myself. My birthstone is a Ruby and I just didn't want a stereotypical ring. All rings are beautiful but I wanted something unique to me

O man, rubies are beautiful!
... do you have pictures? Please share... I'd love this post to really be a inspiration for more representation in the commitment jewelry advertising (long shot I know lol) and couple of color.

Stunning. Ring dets - is that cushion cut and is the metal white gold?
It really makes the ruby pop!

I feel like ruby is in this unspoken the trifecta of colored gems along with blue sapphire and green emerald.

Thank you for the complement. I absolutely love my ring.
Early in our relationship, my FH and I took a trip together to South Africa. We were on a tour and the guide was very passionate about his dislike of diamonds and the means that people go to get them. He went on and on about how they really aren't as rare as the De Beers company advertises them to be and.... they really jack up the price and..... they advertise as them being a girls best friend....etcetera, etcetera. He then spoke about the rarity of tanzanite an that there is only one mine in nearby Tanzania. We had never even seen tanzanite before but my FH whispered to me, "When we get married, I'll get you a tanzanite ring". Then winked at me in that way that always melts my heart.
We later saw tanzanite in a shop and thought it was truly beautiful. It can look deep blue to violet depending on the angle.
A year plus later, he proposed to me with the beauty I posted before. I wouldn't change it for anything.
