All lowercase wedding invitations?

I'm designing and printing all the invitations for my wedding and I'm planning on mailing them next week (don't worry it'll only take me one day to print everything once I finalize the design!)

My parents and FH think that the proper nouns on our wedding invitations should be capitalized.

While I understand that's proper grammar, I'm looking at this from a design point of view. This look fits our wedding style. And all lowercase letters to me seem elegant and modern, not to mention everything is roughly the same height. I don't want to find a new font because this is the font that will be on the programs, wedding signs, and other stuff (also, I've searched high and low for another font that I like and have come up empty-handed).

My parents and FH said it's up to me, but I don't want our wedding guests to think I don't know proper grammar. Will people really care if I use all lowercase letters?

Not a fan of the lowercase. When reading your initial post, I thought it sounded cool. But seeing the picture, it doesn't do anything special. So my next thought would be, "Why is it all lowercase?" And I agree with others that the font, while beautiful, is difficult to read. Maybe pick your names and other not so important info to use that font on.

Agreeing with PP. I dont mind the lower case letters, but please choose a different font for the other text besides your names

I don't mind the lower case, but I think you need to break up the text with a different font. Try playing with the smaller text in a different font. It's a little hard to read. There are tons of great examples on pinterest of different font combinations you could try that reflect that style. Good luck!

I agree, use a different font for the important information because that will be hard to read. I also thing you need to use correct capitalization.

Another vote for hard to read and I do think it is kind of kid-ish too. I just think this is a grown up affair and you should use grown up punctuation. I am sorry that sounds harsh. How formal is your wedding? Remember that your invitation sets the tone for your wedding. If I received this I would think your wedding was more informal.

@Brittany - you're wedding sounds just like mine! Love the lawn games! I second what others have said. Pairing two or three different types of fonts would look cute and fit with your more laid back style. Love the font for the names for sure though!

I don't have a preference on the all lower case but your font is very difficult to read. I don't have a suggestion for a different font. But I would really look at something more practical. If I got that I would honestly wonder how you let the proof go to print that hard to read

I am a designer too and invitations designed by profession invitation designers are two different fonts for a reason, no matter the size the smaller words will be hard on the eyes. Your names should be in the modern calligraphy and the information should be in non calligraphy.

I agree with the others who recommend two contrasting fonts. It looks better overall. Leave the names in the fancy cursive font (lowercase is fine) and find a nice sans serif for the other parts.

I too am have a modern/chic/casual thing, and I went Madina script with Nevis or futura fonts.

I don't mind you and your FH's names lowercase in that font but I'm personally not a fan of everything else being lowercase but that could be because I'm having trouble reading it. I agree with everyone else that you need to change the font for everything but your names.

Agree about the font. I love that font and designed ours using that font on parts as well. But some fonts are like glitter. Only sprinkle a little or it's overkill! Consider a clean serif or sans serif for everything but your names. All lowercase is great! But don't forget FH should feel his opinion is also valued!

I like the font and lowercase for the names. I would change the rest though.

The font and the lack of capital letters makes me cringe.

I'm not a fan of modern "script" to begin with, though.

Like pp said, there's a reason most invitations combine a script/calligraphic style font with an engraved or similar font: it makes the smaller print much easier to read.

It's a bit hard to read. Too much of the scribbly font.
