Well, if you still need any of these adorable "beach" hair accessories, you will find all you need on www.forprincessbride.com - great prices and a great gift with any order! Good luck with the rest of planning/arranging/accessorizing - it's fun! Enjoy the process!

Hi Nicole, we have our own planner as we are not doing the wedding at a hotel. We have pretty much everyone booked. She is kind of laid back too (at least 2 to 3 emails before a confirmation or revised Wedding Plan). We do have everyone booked now, thank god.

Did you ask the venue how many months in advance they book? Ask for referrals of past weddings that you could contact, that might put your mind as ease to know that is their policy at that particular venue. As a florist we like to have the dates lock in at least 6-8 months out. Good Luck!

I completely understand. They are on island time! We were going to get married in Aruba, and the resory was horrible at returning my emails. i accepted their proposal and the planner was supposed to email me a contract and he never did. We decided to go somewhere else and are using a wedding planner that is not from a hotel.

    Wow Amanda,

We are dealing with this all the time too. Where did you book the wedding now at what hotel. See these places are not smart. They should want our money and we are good advertising for them also. I didn't want to get the director involved but after reading what a wedding planner should do and they don't I have no choice. I am going to ask for some money to be taken off b/c of this. Uhhh i guess its nice to know I am not alone.

We originally were going to go to the Marriot Renaissance in Aruba. We loved it there and we would have had a private beach for our wedding. There customer service was horrible and the wedding planner never returned my emails. So we decided not to do it there. Now we are getting married in Puerto Rico. We arent staying at a hotel, we are renting two villas in Palmas Del Mar so it will be more intimate, and we hired a wedding planner who is awesome, and returns my email right away.

See that is the problem I am going down 6 days before and like everyone else I am sure you don't want to spend those days planning everything that should have been done before you arrived. I am not dealing with my lady anymore. maybe she is mad I went over her head but I am paid allot of money to have her and she stinks. Okay I don't want to be a bridezilla either Shawnmer but it is hard right? I have to make a wish list and send it to the director so when I do that I will make sure it says customer service to be great . Amanda I love your idea that is so nice.

Island time is a common problem. They aren't used to accomodating fast paced Americans that want to get things done. Consider using outside vendors to help you plan. If they want their business to succeed they have to listen to you and help you out! Whether you bring in a planner or a photographer, you'll be able to make sure that they work on your schedule, are flexible and responsive to your needs. If you are thinking about a photographer, check out my work at a Jamaican wedding last year. lindsayjphoto.com
