Alcohol for a brunch wedding

Meaghan, on April 27, 2017 at 11:30 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 26

We are doing a catered brunch wedding for 22 people and we are providing the alcohol to be served. We are definitely doing a mimosa bar and a Bloody Mary bar and providing Irish coffee (as well as regular coffee and other non-alcoholic drinks). Should we also buy alcohol for a full service bar or are those options sufficient? What other drinks do you like at brunch time?

Sounds good to me. What is the food that you will be serving with brunch?

You should just stick with typical brunch alcohol drinks. I'm sure your guests will understand why you don't have a full bar at brunch time

I think those options are sufficient for brunch. Screwdrivers might be an easy addition since you already have the ingredients. I definitely wouldn't bother with a full bar

If you do the Bloody Mary bar you have to get that candied bacon!

Although I do not drink tequila, I think some people like tequila sunrises and you basically have the ingredients with everything else you are providing, just add grenadine!

I'm looking at the menu of one of my favorite restaurants and my favorite brunch drink of theirs is called Spanish Rose. It's Sangria, Prosecco, and fresh strawberries served in a champagne flute!

I don't think you need a full bar; possibly add pomegranate juice which is GREAT with champagne.

Ooh screwdrivers, Bellinis and sangria are all great ideas! @svetlana our final menu isn't done yet but we will be doing scrambled eggs, a spinach and goat cheese quiche bacon (my FH's only sincere request for the whole wedding was that he could eat bacon at it), roasted potatoes, fruit salad, waffle bar. We are probably adding some sort of salad as well as a pasta option. We'll also have cupcakes for dessert (I'm especially excited about the mimosa flavored ones with orange cake and champagne buttercream frosting!)

ETA: sorry I was typing this as others were responding - thanks for all the great ideas!

My Brunch wedding had champagne, beer, wine and a signature cocktail mimosas. No hard liquor.

Damn. Now I want some french toast, bacon, eggs and enough Bellini's to get me naked wasted.

    Those sound plenty to me.

If I was going to add something, it would be sangria

@gymrat that is why planning this wedding has been so hard every time I start thinking about it I just want to eat a ton of brunch food and drink all mimosas I can!

    It all sounds so delicious.

There are some beer cocktails that might be a nice alternative.

    Orange juice/wheat beer.

Or Michelada. Similar ingredients to a Bloody Mary mixed with beer.

From the get go, I wanted a brunch wedding. (Who doesn't want bloody Mary's and waffles on their wedding day?!)

    But... compromise.

I love Sangria! I think Mimosas and Sangria are two great options. Maybe provide one or two beer options? I don't think a full bar is necessary for brunch, but some people like beer over the fruity drinks.
