Cate loved her airbrush. I felt it showed my pores and imperfections. I am going to have a regular make-up trial in June.

I just wanted your thoughts on both types. I can't believe water based can be cried off. ???

Hey you old tart! Smiley smile

My friend/MUA used regular makeup on me, and it lasted about 16 hours - through tears, sweat, rain, lots of laughing, snuggling up to H, hugging everyone in sight, and whiskey shots gone awry. She applied a liquid makeup with a brush and it looked dewy but never shiny or greasy, I'm not sure what type of liquid it was though (silicone vs. something else.) It felt really light, and I usually wear a very light tinted moisturizer in lieu of foundation. Also - this is random but I wasn't feeling that well the morning of the wedding and the brush application was very soothing and actually made me feel better. Kind of like a face massage. Smiley smile

It always amazes me what pros can do with makeup. I think the trick is the application, more than the actual material. Jenece can do wonders with super inexpensive products that I could never achieve with the highest-end stuff.

Oh, Jenece also did my 70 yo mom's makeup on wedding day. She used the same method on her that she used on me, and mom looked ah-mazing. She was fresh as a daisy when she left the wedding at 2:30am and I know she cried her fair share of tears just like I did. Not a streak or a run in sight, and she looked about 20 years younger.

Stephanie, Thanks again for all of your input. It has provided me a list of questions I thought I already asked, but apparently I didn't do an effective job. Re waterproof eyes, when I do my make-up, I use a waterproof mascara and a waterproof liquid eye liner. The liner the artist used was a pencil.

Amber Z....It is all so darn confusing, isn't it?

Kris S.....Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. You looked AMAZING. It is a shame you are all the way in Chicago, otherwise, I could borrow your artist.

Aw, thanks Carole. Actually, Jenece is in Denver - she's one of my friends so she was at the wedding as a guest anyway.

She does travel although that would probably be ridiculously expensive. If you ever have a function in Denver and need hair or makeup, you just let me know! Smiley winking

Hey Carole - I hired a MUA who specializes in airbrush and will be getting my trial probably in August. I will be sure to post pics so you can see what another old tart looks like in airbrush.

Linda....Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I am sure you will look beautiful.

I can swear my pores looked huge with airbrush. That was another strike against it for me. From far away it looked okay, but even DH admitted up close, my pores and lines were even more defined. ?????

@Amber, I'm chuckling about the "real makeup artists don't use airbrush and celebrities never use airbrush either"

I wonder what she considers a "real" makeup artist? I guess I must be a "fake" makeup artist because I do airbrush and I use it on "celebrities"

@Carole, hopefully the makeup artist will prep and prime your skin before airbrushing. This will reduce the look of the pores and fine lines. I am curious to know the brand of makeup that was used. And they do makeup waterproof eye and lip pencils.

Here is a blog I posted several months ago about traditional vs. airbrush makeup

Stephanie, I have been reading a lot about airbrush makeup and I am undecided between silicone and water based makeup. I was originally thinking silicone because I read that water based makeups can run, but then I read that you use a professional grade makeup sealer with water based makeup. What is this product called?
