After you kiss, confetti toss?

Tiffany, on February 9, 2017 at 5:24 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Anyone out there doing some sort of confetti toss after you kiss and walk back down the aisle? If so, what are you using/storing it in? And do you only put it on the two seats closet to the aisle? We are only having about 30 people at our ceremony, should I just provide it for everyone? I'm assuming we will have three rows, five people per side?

We are doing this on leaving our ceremony venue! We're getting married at a town hall in London and it's done at almost every wedding there. I would give confetti to EVERYONE and give them way more than you think if you want an awesome photo.

My photographer has a cool blog post on this:

Depending on the type of confetti, you can put it in cones, pretty paper bags, or a special tube. The blog post has the sources for some of the confetti which tend to have distribution technique ideas.

Also, if you do want a good photo, it needs to be organized somewhat. My sister, the MOH, is super excited about this and has taken it on herself to organize (also a small 30-40 person wedding). Everyone needs plenty of confetti, to know the throwing plan, and someone to shout when to do it.

ETA: Check with the venue - it may have to be an outside thing.

You will also probably have to have someone clean this up, so keep that in mind! Check with your venue, and find out the clean up policy!

My venue didn't allow anything to be thrown, but I went to an outdoor wedding where they used dried flowers. They tried to pass a bowl of them around to everyone to grab a handful, and the basket didn't make it all the way around to all the guests by the time they were ready for the kiss, so I'd highly recommend either giving the confetti out in little bags or cones as your guests arrive, or having them already on everyone's seat. It think with 30 people I'd give everyone something to toss.
