Affordable Honeymoon

Courtney, on October 7, 2019 at 8:53 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 11
HELP! My fiancé and I are trying to figure out an affordable place to go for a honeymoon. We’re kind of looking for a nice relaxing honeymoon package by the ocean. We were kind of looking for that private villa-type feel. Either in the US or Mexico.

Thank you!!

You can find some good deals for all-inclusive resorts in Mexico on websites like Cheapcaribbean.com, Bookit.com, and even Expedia. What is your budget? Affordable is a pretty subjective term. Some people consider $1000 a lot of money to spend on a honeymoon and others are comfortable with $10000.

Are you into camping? Like tent camping?? If so California's state parks are pretty cheap to stay at. And the ocian isn't to far away. We drove out there from South Dakota for 3 weeks with $2,000 and we came home with a little over $500. We camped all along the way at state parks and grilled out of the campsite. Did lots of hiking and got a TON of quality time together lol. So I don't know how out doorsy you guys are, but that has been my favorite trip of all time so far!

I can tell you from a person who has done Jamaica, Cozumel, and Puerto Viarta the best place we have ever been was Cozumel. We stayed at a cheap 3 star all inclusive resort the beach was almost always just the 2 of us. The food wasn’t the best but we ate only breakfast there and dinner at Jeanie’s every night! That place is our FAVORITE!!! For 6 nights we paid with airfare included $1900. Jamaica was nice, also 3 stars and the beach was ok the food was blah and there wasn’t much we wanted to do. Paid $2200 for 5 nights. PV was the worst. We stayed at a 5 star resort and I felt so out of place. The food was the same everyday and it costs us a 30 minute ride into town for any adventure. Paid $3250 for 5 nights. All booked on Hotwire.com. Hope this helps, don’t focus on the stars read the guest reviews and you’ll see what works best for you.

Okay I know it’s not in one of your ideal places, but we are doing Costa Rica. You can get flights from atlanta to San Jose, CR for less than $300 and can stay and eat really cheap! Lots of hiking, waterfalls, and beach days for free activities too. Just an idea!

The Dominican Republic. Flights are around 500-600 pp but the resorts were among the more affordable international beach resorts we saw.

You can find flights from LAX to Tahiti for about $700 round-trip. Then stay at one of the hotels on the beach. I think two round-trip tickets and 6 nights on a beach side resort in Tahiti is about $3500 (depending on the time of year).

Hey! Have you thought about a cruise? This way you can hit a few beaches and lodging and food is all in one place and already paid for. Just a thought.

Contact a travel agent! They can best help you find what you're looking for and may have recommendations you might not have considered on your own. They don't charge you a fee outright, they get paid from the places you book. They also have access to deals you wouldn't know about. And it takes the pressure off you!
