Adding sleeves on my wedding dress... Yes or No?

Anikia, on March 20, 2016 at 10:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

I've been really contemplating about somehow adding sleeves to my dress. I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with my arms out, and I'm now wishing I bought dress that had sleeves already. Idk how sleeves would even look. What's your thoughts and opinion? ETA: My dress comes in a few weeks, and Im feeling kind of worry I may not have picked the right dress!

Maybe a short lace jacket? That way, if you change your mind, you can take your "sleeves" off.

I think your dress looks great on you! I can't picture the dress with sleeves. Do you mean small cap sleeves? I think they can add those pretty easily but I think the dress looks perfect without them!

I agree with PP the dress looks awesome without sleeves! I'm not sure what kind of sleeves you're envisioning but I picture some tulle cap sleeves if any. A jacket or shrug may be a good compromise- removable sleeves?

I'd do a bolero if you want sleeves instead of adding sleeves

I think it looks great as is, but maybe either cap sleeves or a short lace jacket would work.

I'm not a strapless kind of girl, I don't wear strapless anything. I couldn't find a dress with the kind of sleeves I wanted so I picked a strapless gown and I'm having short sleeves added.

It's hard to tell because of my hair, but left is no sleeves and right is with a mock up of what I'm having made.

I LOVE your dress! I think a soft tulle cap/short sleeve would be totally fine. I suggest trying it back on at the salon and playing around with different straps, sleeves, and boleros and take pictures so you can get an idea of what the dress would look like.

ETA- please excuse my resting bitch face.

I think it's beautiful the way it is! And I also think it would be beautiful with straps. I would wait until you get it in and talk to your store about adding them and see if they can hold anything up for you to see what it would look like. Overall it's a gorgeous dress and fits you great!!

You are ROCKING your dress without sleeves. If you do put sleeves on it, think about all the hugs you'll be giving that day and put sleeves on it that will accommodate all the love in the room. Smiley smile

That dress is gorgeous! When you take it in for alterations they may have some advice and will let you know options will work with your dress. You could also try wearing a shawl over your arms and shoulders.

I totally feel you on the arm thing. You will be good without, but remember you'll want to be comfortable as you.

I think you look beautiful the way the dress is!! In my opinion, I feel like sleeves can highlight your arms.

You look beautiful in that dress! Like PP, I think you should experiment with different boleros to get a feel for how sleeves look. The nice thing about a little lightweight jacket is that you can take if off if you want to. If the sleeves are sown to the dress, you are stuck with them all night. Just a thought! However, I think you will look gorgeous no matter what you do.

I think it looks beautiful without sleeves and you rock it! But if it makes you feel uncomfortable what about a jacket like PP suggested?

When the dress comes in April, I will definitely speak with alterations to see what my options are for the dress.

I have a dress that is a similar shape and I am adding small cap sleeves. I have never loved strapless dresses for myself. But that dress does look very nice how it is as well!

So pretty! But it would look pretty if you added sleeves. Either way you are gonna look great. Just make sure you feel comfortable

I'm having sleeves added to my dress basically to make me feel better. I NEVER wear strapless anything. I completely understand how you feel. You look beautiful. I love your dress.
