Adding bling/sparkle to wedding dress

So I said yes to my dress yesterday and I’m completely in love with it! The only thing is that I wanted my dress to have some sparkle to it. The lady mentioned adding some white sequins to the lace detailing on top to keep it subtle but to also help it catch the light and in pictures. I tried on belts with it, but it didn’t look right with the lace. I am going to talk to some local seamstresses to see if it is even possible. But I wanted some others opinions if anyone else has done this with theirs? I am worried it won’t look like I imagined and may look a little prom-ish. I have a year to do so, so plenty of time. Everyone thinks it looks pretty as is, and maybe i should just dress it up with accessories. What do you think? Has anyone tried and loved it even more?

Your dress in no way looks prom-ish. It's beautiful. I don't think it needs any sparkle, but if you want it, I like that sequin idea you mentioned.

I love that lace, so unique! I personally would not add anything to it because I love how it looks currently. If it were me I would just add some sparkle through my jewelry but you really can't go wrong either way. I think if you want the sequins it would look great as well, it just depends on your taste. Gorgeous dress!

Oh my goodness, that dress!!!!! I think some fabulous jewelry is all you need. Are you planning to wear a veil or any kind of headpiece?

I would just add some bling by using your accessories! Maybe get a more sparkly veil and headpiece. Idk if a belt would look right with the way the lace stops but I would try one! And then jewelry. I think once your all put together you won’t need the sparkle on the dress! I love that dress on you!

You’re dress doesn’t need anything! But if you wanted to had some sparkly i’ve send it done. My grandmothers gorgeous ball gown actually had subtle sparkling sewn into the lace like what was suggested too you (I tried it on). It gave the dress a very subtle sparkle. I will say that something that all has to be done by hand so can get expensive fast.

The appeal of that dress is its beautiful, intricate lace. Adding sequins would not enhance the look of the dress. I agree with the PPs about getting the sparkle you want through your accessories.

My gown has clear/opal sequins already sewn into the lace and it doesn’t look prom -ish at all. It’s a subtle little shimmer. If you want a little sparkle go for it. But the dress is already beautiful . Maybe try to find wedding jewelry and hair accessories with sparkle too before you decide if the dress needs more

The a hidden throughout the bodice. I wouldn’t even say you can them until the lights hits them and they let off a hint of a shimmer

Thanks! I’m trying to find a seamstress near me that will add some subtle clear/white sequins throughout the top part, and maybe the straps like this picture! I just keep thinking about it and definitely want to add something to make it sparkle.
