a Boudoir shoot as a wedding gift.

Sidney, on December 12, 2019 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 34

Hey girls! It is so good to finally be on here. I have always dreamed of the day I could finally come and chat with you all about my engagement. Well, it finally happened and I have a question. I am thinking about possibly scheduling a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift and I wanted to hear from you.

Generally speaking,

For any of you ladies that have already had one done, what did you think about the experience? Are you pleased with the results. Is it worth it?

And if you have one scheduled to be done or you are thinking about it, I would love your thoughts as well.

Would any of you ladies who know about it be willing to chat further with me about it? I have some questions.

    Welcome!

So, I have one scheduled in the next couple of weeks. I managed to ask a friend of mine who is well connected, so she's getting me a photographer and finding a place to shoot. I'm going to ask her for a HMUA as well. This is coming out to be a lot cheaper than a few of the options I've found online. A lot of places charge between $200-500 for the session which could range between 2-5 wardrobe changes and do not include the HMUA which is an additional $250. It doesn't seem like a lot, but where they get you is printing the photos and the rights to the photos. Many places charge an additional $1000+ for 8 photos in a photobook, with 0 rights to re-printing the photos at a later day. At least with the photographer I have I get the rights to all of my photos.

I'm going to be looking at lingerie tomorrow. One of my outfits will be one of his white shirts & my wedding heels, and I was thinking of finding some nice lace bra/undies tomorrow I can wear at other times. I'm going to also buy a $20 veil off of amazon to wear at the shoot cause I won't wear a veil during my ceremony.

Have you started looking or have any ideas of what you're going to do? I'm so scared and excited at the same time about doing this shoot!

I recently did one and I loved it! It was very fun, I clicked well with the photographer so the shoot was a good time. Got the photos back, and loved them! I planned on saving them all as a gift, doing a photo album or something, but after some thought I realized it wouldn’t be worth spending the money on an album (plus I was too excited) so I shared all of them but 3 with him already. The last 3 are photos with me in his high school football jersey, so I’m really holding those out as a surprise!

Even wedding aside- I encourage ladies to do a boudoir shoot! It boosted my confidence so much, I got home from the shoot and FH said “you need to go do shoots more often, you’re so confident”

    Hey Sidney! Welcome!
I’ve scheduled a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift to my FH. I’m very excited to do it! A few of my friends have gotten them done and said it was empowering and a self-confidence boost.
My shoot is complementary with my wedding photographer but would probably be valued at $450.I’m also planning to get my hair done at a local salon and go to Sephora to get my makeup done. The site has HAMU artists but they’re much more expensive than what I’m planning to be doing. Still have NO idea what I’m wearing. Super self conscious about my weight ✌️So we’ll see how this goes lol. If you find any outfit inspo post it!! ☺️

    Hi!!
It actually comes as an option in my photography package so I will be doing a boudoir shoot as a wedding present. It comes with hair and makeup done, prints, and in a cute leather book. It is honestly one of the things I’m most excited about for the wedding.
Also— it may sound weird but my future mother in law and I are EXTREMELY close so we will actually be doing a back to back shoot together and make a day out of it!!

I absolutely loved my session! I did a little black book for my husband as a wedding gift but once I got it back I couldn't wait for our wedding in November so I gave it to him like two months early

Oh wow that sounds great. I am excited about possibly doing one as well. And that's not weird. In my opinion, more women need to be open about this kind of thing and celebrate it!
