I thought this was an interesting read. There are definitely things on here I didn't think of.

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing! I knew I was on the right track with insisting on hiring a videographer. We meet with him next weekend!

This was a good article! I couldn't imagine buying things before I booked the venue.

I felt like the venue made everything else flow better because it gave me a "vision" for my wedding

I think we will still try to work in a videographer. A photographer gets just selected still images which are wonderful to keep but I feel like a videographer can get the speeches, the lil things you didn't see, things maybe you forgot. Just lil things that you didn't think you would miss. I can see why so many love them.

That was a good article - and luckily I did most of those things.

I DO wish we had hired a videographer, though. I splurged on my photographer (whom I love and don't regret) before I found WW and it was no longer in the budge. And before WW all the wedding videos I had seen were like the 2 hour long just filming off the day. I never saw those absorbable highlight videos set to music and I REALLY wish we had been able to get one.

I really wish we had the budget for a videographer but at least one of FH's uncles is going to tape the ceremony for us, so we will have that. Smiley smile

I wish we'd hired a videographer & I totally agree with the lipstick reapplication! I didn't even think about it during the reception, but looking back at pictures I'm like ughhh why didn't I reapply!?!

I definitely agree with the photograph list. We didn't do that and we missed out on some photos I would have loved to have i.e. me and my grandma.

I turned off my phone at the beginning of the day and had given my MOH a list of our vendors and phone numbers in case anything went wrong, we also had a coordinator, so that helped. Nothing major went wrong, but it was still great that I knew others would deal with any issues that came up.

I agree with most except the photographer-the Bride should NOT be responsible for making sure the photographer gets all the expected shots the day of. Either the bride and groom should hand her an exhaustive list beforehand, or someone else needs to be the voice of reason.

I would've loved for someone else to pipe up and say, "Oh wait, we need a picture of the bride and her siblings!" because frankly, my mind was on other things, and I would've liked to have a picture of me with my brother and sister from my wedding day. (rant over)

Also, reapplying lipstick…something else I'm glad I didn't have to think about. My MUA applied MAC ProLongwear lip color and I had to remove it the next day with olive oil. So, I'd recommend that.

Here's one tip: do NOT be the first wedding of the season. I had great recommendations for all my vendors, but since we were the first wedding of the season, I feel like our wedding was an afterthought because the vendors weren't able to get it into gear.

@Married I had a conversation with my photographer where she told me if I saw a pic I liked and wanted to replicate, I should send it to her, so I was thinking of this as a before the day type thing, not a day of type thing.

But good tip on the first wedding of the Season, might be good advice for some.

I love the advice about having your honeymoon a few days later. We are getting married Saturday evening and skippin town on Tuesday morning!

@Mrs. Caldwell, that is good advice I know a couple who overslept the day after and missed their flight. It ended up costing them an extra $300 or so.
