Get your caterer settled!!! And if you havent yet get your dress. It could take up to 8 months to come in if you have one ordered.

    Ok, breathe.

Does your venue handle catering, alcohol (if you’re having any), or any other “must haves”? If not, check with them if they have a preferred vendors list and if they charge extra if you steer away from the list. This is your jumping off point for other vendors. (After venue, catering is usually next, if the venue doesn’t provide food)

Also, this is dress time. To make sure you have enough time to find, order, get delivered, and alter your gown, this is the time to go shopping. 8 months is usually the sweet spot to make sure you have plenty of time and don’t start limiting your options (or racking up “rush” fees).

    Good Luck! You’ve got this!

Hi! I am 9 months out! I don’t want to overwhelm you at all but I just will give you a list of what we have done. This all depends on your venue and how much they offer and all that. Our venue is a blank canvas meaning we are getting to do everything from scratch which is what I wanted.

Venue, food, bar, makeup, cake, desserts, tables, chairs and dance floor rentals, dj, photography, videoography, dress, and some others but that’s to start! Pinterest has lots of good checklists for what you need to do and when to do it

Do you plan on hiring a florist or riding in limos? You should definitely get your dress and have your bridesmaids get their dresses also. What’s your vision for your aisle and reception decor? Sometimes if the venue caters they don’t do desserts. Do they provide the cake? Will you need linen, flatware and chairs? You need an officiant as well. Are you doing DIY for anything? You should probably get started on that so you won’t be overwhelmed if you wait any longer to get it done. The DJ is pretty important too. Just a few things...

WW has a great checklist to keep you on track of what vendors you need and by when to book them.

Ours is april 4th 2020. We have our venue booked, caked booked , officiant booked , save the dates sent out , invitations made, my dress, bridesmaids dresses , and bouquet ordered so far. My venue is already decorated but I'm adding my own little touches so that's really all I'm left with besides deciding on food and getting my boys suits ! Which I'll do very soon
