71 days left! October 2019 brides what do you have left?

Jessica, on August 1, 2019 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 1 10
Im kinda freaking out because were down to 71 days and Im not sure how to get everything done in time.

Heres what I have left to finish/start:
1. Make the last bridesmaid bouquet.
2. Finish up the few signs we have
3. Get final alterations in about a month
4. Bridal portraits end of September
5. Meet with DJ, Photographer, Decorator all at the venue. They all wanna meet sometime around 4 weeks out.
6. Address all invitations and mail out in next 2 weeks!
7. Add on any extra needed rentals to our rental package.
8. Get my Jr. Bridesmaid a new dress (store sold me wrong color).
9. Get remaining gifts for bridal party and set up their baskets
10. I pick up the gift for my groom tomorrow and then have to get it engraved.
11. Pack for honeymoon (we fly out the morning after wedding).
12. Finish centerpieces
13. Bachorlette party.
14. Order dining china for reception

We only have exactly 10 weeks left as of tomorrow and I have more than 1 task per week to do. I also have to get my son ready for back to school in 2 weeks plus I have a very relaxing job that Ive been slacking on a little. And this is just the main things stressing me not my complete list.

Where are all the other brides at with "still need to dos" getting married around Sept-Nov?

Any suggestions on what I can do to get this stuff done?

I don't really know where you're at with the DIY projects, but it seems like maybe you could fit the one bouquet, the signs and the centerpieces into one weekend. I guess it depends on how many centerpieces, and how elaborate they are--how long they take to make. Everything else on your list seems like some kind of shopping, or shopping-related stuff. That's always difficult because you have to carve out time in the day to do that.

Numbers 3, 4, and 5 on your list are things for a bit later on, so I wouldn't even stress about those now. You can't do anything about them, except wait.

It does seem like a lot, with only 10 weeks to go. But you can do it!! Just group your tasks into categories, because some of these things go together, or are related (like the alterations and the bridal portraits kind of go together), then prioritize each category. Obviously the invitations have to be addressed before they can be mailed. That seems like the most pressing task, just in terms of timing, since invites have to go out in the mail in a couple weeks.

Once you have everything prioritized by time (how long it takes, when it is needed), then you may feel differently about your list.

You said you have a relaxed job. Do I take that to mean you can accomplish some tasks while at work? Like typing the address labels for your invitations? Or browse/shop online for some of the gifts you still need and Jr. BM's dress?

I hope some of these suggestions help you. I know you'll rock it out! Just breathe! Smiley smile

I must just be a chill person cuz I am still not freaking out. I think our date is the same?? Although nervous about a honeymoon and needing to book it (FH & I are discussing this in the next few days since he has many days off). I need to finish purchasing my decor and just figuring out how it will be assembled. My dress is at the shop so I have to pick that up! I still have signs to make and FH has to make all the woodworking things. I have to finish the stupid votive candle holders I am decorating. We need rings still, I need to purchase the mom gifts (cuz FH decided I would get the mom's and he the dad's). I basically have everything sorted as far as what I need to buy because I am constantly scrolling and price checking, I just haven't bought it yet. I need to test out fake floral in water because idk if they will bleed for the 3 tiered centerpieces.

If you can purchase stuff online and have it shipped to you. Saves a trip to the store in terms of bridesmaid gifts. The DIY's you'll just have to keep on them and do one task each night. It honestly seems like you're more ready than I am so I wouldn't stress too much!

    79 days left for me!
We need to size and order FH ring.
    Go for my first fitting.
Make our signs, (welcome, seating, menu)
    book honeymoon
final payments are due next month
    Order guest book pic
    Make cake topper
    practice flower bouquet making
    finally take engagement photos
figure out music for ceremony and reception
practice dancing with dad & FH with our songs
    order sparklers

I feel like I’m missing something else but can’t think of what it is right now.

I'm here! You will get everything done Smiley smile just tackle one thing at a time.

I gotta finish buying the table easels for my signs, and finish up a few signs. I have to do my H&MU trial (I already booked the woman), finish up bridesmaids gifts, and do the seating chart), and get the junior groomsmen their gifts.

Omg lol it was NOT supposed to say relaxing... it was supposed to say hi demand job. I am an RN and see patients throughout the day but spend several hours in the evenings working on documentation and also at least half the day Sunday. Plus every 4 weeks im on call and see several patients over the weekend so I generally spend the following week and weekend documenting even more than normal (more hours each weekday night and pretty much the whole weekend).

Sorry, i forgot to say your right, I need to priortize by date needed. As for the centerpieces they're about 65 percent done, im doing "matching mismatched" centerpieces. I have the piece done for all tables that will be matching and have to come up with 2 more "mismatched" items for 3 tables each.

Oh yeah, I get it. My stepmom was a nurse. Hard, demanding job, that takes a lot of time. Most people think it's just about seeing patients and then you go home. Nope. I totally understand about documenting and about being on call. I can't believe you have time to plan a wedding!! No wonder you're stressed about the time you have left. I would be too. I mean, I do work full time, but as a legal secretary, I don't have to take my work home, or work on it on the weekends. I do my shift, and go home. Also, there's a bit of downtime at work, and my boss doesn't really care how we spend that time, as long as we're at our desks. So, before I was planning a wedding, I would read a book. But now, every chance I get, I'm on WW, or researching/planning the next thing.

Just remember to breathe! You're almost there!!
