Oh man, I should have eloped to Colorado.

I'm in Utah. I feel like Colorado is our state's much cooler, older cousin. All the perks with none of the BS drawbacks.

My former boss is working with a 420 weddings company (she runs a salon in Denver, so it's like a hair and MU partnership). Let me see if I can get some information from her to pass along.

Centerpiece: do you also think that a family should not have children attend if there is an open bar? If its legal in OP's state and she conforms with the laws and restrictions of her venue I am not sure why you think weed should be treated differently than having a bar.

Cannabis Wedding Expo is happening in Denver on Jan 17th! You should check it out! That's what my former boss sent over to me. Details can be found at this link http://www.westword.com/event/cannabis-wedding-expo-7398513

This sort of thing becoming a norm is scary for me. Though I am a special case.. seeing as I am allergic to marijuana. Just make sure your guests are aware that it will be an option so they know to stay away from that area... especially if they are like me.

For now, it's being treated like alcohol when it really should be more like cigarettes; which people smoke, despite the fact that it can irreparably harm children.

Thanks you guys! You can tell how much this is not my issue. It's an interesting consideration for venues. They would need an airlock door for a special room like the airport smoking lounges to make sure it was all contained. Seems like there would be a market for that feature.

Interesting, I didn't even know this was something people want to do on their wedding day.

@ally my FH has heard of couples that used Marijuana as their centerpieces and the thought of it makes my stomach turn. Because the smell makes me sick.

Also, whose entire family would be okay with that? I just can't imagine grandma coming to a wedding like that

I would also assume no pregnant women should be there. Every wedding I've been to, the bride and groom have been pretty during the whole thing so I'm wondering when you would have time to fit smoking in

Some of these comments are amusing. I am willing to bet many of you have been to a wedding where someone was smoking and you didn't even know (clutch your pearls). Usually it's a joint smoked outside just like a cigarette is smoked. No children or pregnant woman are harmed in the process. A bride or groom can easily smoke a J then return to the reception. Doesn't take a long time lol.

@miami how you are explaining it sounds more like being sneaky rather than weed friendly IMO

You're wedding is going to be lit. If it all works out.

Im just responding to the comments that are so concerned about the welfare of children and others and the ones that are shocked by the idea. I find it funny. And I usually don't see anyone being sneaky. They smoke it outside next to the people smoking cigaretts.

Since you are in Colorado ( and it's legal) , you should start looking on 420 friendly business sites for companies and places near you or near where you want to have your celebration. have fun!

Well those would be valid concerns if they wanted to partake inside the venue which to me is what the title hints at even if it's not OP's intention

She said outside in the thread: "I just like want to be able to smoke outside, I just don't want the place throwing a fit."

I'm just saying from my experiences, people do it and nobody says anything. So even if the venue is not weed friendly, she probably won't have an issue, especially in colorado.
