Hello everyone, how much are you all spending on invitations? Is $400 reasonable if it includes pre-printed envelopes?

I had some beautiful pocket invites all picked out from a local, family owned stationary store. Inserts, inner envelopes and thank you cards all included for 125 invites were priced at JUST under $1200.

Reason # **** that we eloped.

I spent about 120 on 60 invitations with rsvp cards and addressed envelopes. I looked around at local printing shops and found one that made custom invitations also!

I'm with O&S, Helen. How were they that much if you printed them yourself? Were the envelopes lined in gold? Are you including the price of a new printer? I don't get it.

I find that's pricy. I did really well at Zazzle.

@Helen - were those red shapes designed in glue, then you sprinkled glitter on it? I remember doing that in kindergarten. So fun!

These are the same ones as we got. Foil printed dots, print at home. We got them for $9/box and are using them as programs and escort cards (the RSVP cards) too. Also got the thank you cards to match. I wasn't concerned with fancy invites as we're having a laid back, Friday night wedding.

Our invitations plus STDs were roughly $400 without any extras like envelope liners, addressing, or belly bands. For 55, that seems decent. Without the STDs, our invites were $285 for 35 (invitation, RSVP, details card and envelopes) but invitations were important to us, so I'd say you're getting a decent deal unless you want to design/print them yourself.

It really just depends on the formality of your wedding. If your wedding is formal, then you need the invitations to set the tone for that. If it's not all that formal, then there's no reason to spend a bunch of money on paper. Vistaprint has awesome sales that you can look out for so you can save a lot of money.

@AmandaG, we ordered 55 invites and 55 RSVP cards, both included pre printed envelopes. Our wedding is formal.

I spent $84.90 for 100 by vistaprint (invitation and response cards) I also ordered when they had a good deal! This allowed me to buy some personalized stamps to go with!

Not sure if it's still up, but Groupon has a deal for wedding paper divas ( there are 4 options). We bought the groupon for $250.00 and got $500.00 worth of invitations. For the ones I got for 115 invitations and 115 response cards it was $476.00 total but I only paid $10 for shipping. So in total we spent $260.00. This could cut down on the cost depending on which ones you go with or completely cover the cost like it did ours.

Helen- come back. We have questions.

I paid way to much for mine- I regret it now- but they were fun. so meh- whatever.

    233 for 25 or 30 invites + 60 name labels + belly band. I can't remember if it was 25 or 30.

    Whatever- still to much honestly.
