Hello everyone, how much are you all spending on invitations? Is $400 reasonable if it includes pre-printed envelopes?

How is it copyright? I'm saying come up with your own, in a .doc or something. Google Docs save in PDF if no printer.. I basically just said design the invitations herself online, save them and take them to go get printed..

It really depends on your budget. I paid well over that amount but it was also well within our budget.

@Jacqualine, Why are you printing invites when your wedding is in 9 months?

ETA: to answer OPs question. I used Minted. 75 invites, rsvp, enclosure card, printed return address, printed rsvp envelopes (free), matching liner, and printed addresses (free) for just under 600.

I personally think that's too much for paper that will be trashed. I understand wanting them perfect but you can spend way less for perfect also

It's not illegal, don't know how many times I have to explain myself. She's buying blank cardstocks at Walmart or Target or Party Palace, going home. Opening up Microsoft Word, picking out the font and what she's going to say on her invitations. She's going to save it to a flash drive, take her invitations and flash drive to Office Depot, where they offer copy & print services, and asking them to print them for her... it's completely legal, and not copy right, but okay.

Its a question! Goodness. This is a wedding advice forum. You stated you just printed your invites way earlier than most people do. I was wondering if there was a reason.

    Relax.

@Jacqualine is right that isn't illegal. My sister in law made ours (shes a graphic designer) and she opened up a program and made them. How is that illegal? I then went to a print shop and printed them

I think it depends on your priorities. Im getting mine from VistaPrint and paying less than half of that, because there are other things I care more about that I can put that money towards.

I paid $420 for 75 invitations. They were pocket folds and came with the inserts. I did pay extra for my envelopes to be addressed and for postage so it ended up costing about $500. We budgeted that amount for invitations so I didn't regret it and I loved my invites, but I've seen cheaper invitations that are also beautiful. Check out exclusivelyweddings.com. They have really nice invitations for cheap

I got 100 double layered invitations, printed in dual language , and rsvp inserts, pre-painted envelopes and thank you cards for $450. So I'd say it depends on your design

It really depends on how important invitations are for you and how formal your set up is.

We went with vista print. Simple one card invites, 80 for $40, including plain white envelopes.

I just got complimented that we are being total hipster and the minimalist approach is very in...lol

But it is in line with the theme of our wedding. Beside food and drinks, everything will be cheap...I mean minimalist ... Smiley smile

The problem is, @Jacqualine, your first post didn't say cardstock/paper, it said card, which sounds like an already assembled invitation.

OP - I am planning to use Vistaprint because I refuse to spend that much money on paper that will eventually be thrown out.

Mine was around $700 for pocket invitations with an accommodations card, RSVP card, and reception card. The envelopes were not pre-printed and the invites were not assembled so I had to do that myself.

Wow I had no idea invites were that much! I had decided to make my own before even bothering to look at prices, mine cost about $40 for 52 invites (pocketfold, with envelope, RSVP envelope, and printing)

@O&S was that the same woman whose invites were, like, $15 each to mail? Am I making that up?

I paid $30 for 50 invites. They weren't our priority, as they just end up thrown away anyway.
