40 years old and a bride for the first time.....

MN Kate, on January 24, 2015 at 10:47 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 44

I am just curious if there are other brides on her that are as they say 'older' for their first wedding. A lot of people are astonished that I am 'almost' 40 and never been married. Also surprised we are having such a big wedding being that I am 'older' Smiley smile To me age is just a number and I have a young FH to keep me young. Smiley smile Any other older brides having a big wedding? are you doing things differently because of age or.............

I'm 37, but this is my 2nd marriage.

I can share that I am also a wedding vendor by trade, & I did a wedding a few years back where the bride was 60 getting married for the 1st time!!!! Obviously, HUGE difference in age, but point being, she did it up! She had a huge wedding with all the traditions.

Do whatever you like! To be honest the majority of my brides are over 30 anymore getting married for the first time, it has almost become an oddity to meet a bride under 26.

One of my favorite brides was 58 at the time of her first wedding! And I agree with McKony; almost all of my brides are 25 ...... And no, they really don't do thing differently, they just seem to be a bit more opinionated about their style, which is great!

Do whatever the F#$^@^k you want!!! Big, small, formal, casual; go for it!!!!

I am 41 and this is my 2nd marriage. First time around at 22 it was just family and about 5 friends at the church with a dinner afterwards at a local steak house.

This time around it's the dress, the reception, 3 tier cake and everything!

My FH is 37 and has never been married-just engaged once years ago.

40 and this is my first wedding, his second. We are having the big wedding in March. Had a small emergency one on 1/3 due to my father being very sick and he passed a few days later. We are legally married but still having our planned one, or as my brother calls it the "re enactment" one. lol

Age is no factor, every woman deserves a day to feel her most beautiful while all her friends and family fawn over her. Congrats ladies!

There's absolutely no reason you should have a smaller wedding because of your age, you can have your day any way you want it! Have fun with it!

    Congrats!!

I'm 40 and this is my second marriage. My FH is 45 and this is his first marriage. We are doing a full on traditional wedding per FH's request. He's only doing this one and he wants it done right. Congratulations and have the wedding you want! Age is never a factor when it comes to being a bride

I'm 45 and this is my second marriage, my FH is 46 and this is also his second wedding. My first wedding was a HUGE flop while my FH's first wedding was simply huge. We are doing things differently this time around. We are having a small wedding and reception and a large dance. Partially because we are getting married in a fire hall and there just isn't a lot of room. I say do as you wish, it's your day and you deserve to see your dreams come true! Best wishes to you and God Bless!!

49 and fabulous here , but only just, I'm having the full traditional wedding with bells and whistles. FH is 51 and wedding will be on my 50th birthday in 75 days time. Go for it, you do what you've always dreamed of.
