365 Days!

Nicole, on July 11, 2019 at 12:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 26

We're officially one year out from the wedding! We got engaged on the 4th of July last year, and I must say, this year has gone by super quickly. We have all of our vendors under contract (minus cake, which will happen in January) and I'm currently on the hunt for my dress. I know once those two things are done, I'll be itching even more for the big day! Haha. Where are my other 7.11.20 brides at? How far are you in your planning?

That's amazing, Nicole! You're totally on track!

Have you visited any bridal salons yet? Do you know what you're looking for in a dress?

I've gone to 2 salons and tried on a couple sample dresses at a bridal show. I've got 2 gowns coming in through Azazie to try on at home, plan on visiting a sample sale next week during the National Bridal Sale Event, and have an appointment at CocoMelody in August. I think I've tried on about 20 dresses or so in every silhouette and fabric. So far, I like lace A-line with appliques that move throughout the bodice onto the skirt. My current front-runner is the Hearst at BHLDN (Galatea from Willowby by Watters), but I'm wanting to see if I can find something that I like equally, if not more, at a lower price point. Not that the Hearst is a ton of money, but I know I want to do some alterations to the back if I go that route, and that will add extra to the price point.

Congratulations! Any last minute details that you’re trying to iron out or are you just relaxing in this last week?

Basically just organizing all the decor and making sure we have everything! And finalizing counts & payments! Then a spa weekend for me and picking up my dress!

I know it will fly by, especially once summer is over and I’m back at work (teacher). My grade level partner is getting married on Saturday, so I’ve gotten to see how quickly this year goes up front! Congratulations to you! Do you have anything else you’re working on?

On nice! I am a teacher as well! That’s part of the reason those days flew by lol. I am working on centerpieces and my fh and I are doing marriage counseling currently.

Woo for summer projects! Haha. I’ve already completed my table numbers, but we have to cut down some bottles for candles. My ultimate goal is to have everything, minus the seating chart, finalized and completed by the end of the school year next year so I can spend that last month just relaxing.

The only thing I have done is the venue chosen and secured. Ohhhh...I have save the dates as well. That’s it. Part of my hold up is FH doesn’t seem to understand that I need to secure everything now. He thinks we still have time and we should wait until January to really get things done.

Ahh! Only wanting to plan in 6 months?! That would drive me absolutely bonkers. Do you have an idea of who you want for your other vendors? I would stress to him the importance about booking your major vendors early, especially as I think our date will be pretty popular next year. Maybe compromise and try to at least get your photographer, DJ, and caterer booked?
