3 top things you remember about a wedding

About to be Mrs. Nic, on November 20, 2013 at 1:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 43

My married friends are always giving me (solicited) advice about my wedding. One keeps telling me that the top 3 things guests remember about a wedding are:

1.The dress

2. The food

3. The music

I'm not sure if I agree with the food being in top 3. What have been your top 3's as a guest at weddings?

I would put food at number 1. Then the venue and then music.

    The food.

    The dress.

    The venue.

And I agree with Amy. If the music sucks, I will remember that!

    1) How happy/not happy the bride and groom look. I went to one wedding where they were so angry at each other and fought all the way to the ceremony. First time he saw her in her dress, they were fighting.

    2) The food, gotta agree on that

    3) Dancing!

    1. Music - DJ choice is huge!

    2. General vibe - were people dancing, having a good time, not stressed out

    3. Alcohol - I'd hope there was lots

    2. The dress

    3. The venue

If I could have 4 it would be the food.

    Top Three Things I Remember:

    1. The Venue

    2. Was there a line at the bar

    3. Food

Other than that I don't usually remember too many details unless it is something super unique

But I have been racking my brain to remember the details of the wedding I went to at my venue w/ no success except the above items

For the weddings I attended it's been :

    1 - the food

    2 - the atmosphere

3 - whether or not there was a HUGE lag in between the ceremony and reception

    1. Music/Dancing

    2. Food

Yep...that's all that really matters. Unless the bride is wearing a stupid veil like my cousin did. I will never forget how she ruined how beautiful she looked.

Guests actually remember the dress? I've heard, "The bride looked lovely," but never comments on the specific dress.

    I'd say:

    1. The happiness of the couple.

    2. The ceremony.

    3. Any major event (positive or negative).

    2) Were the bride and groom polite to me?

    3) Was there enough food, and was it good?

    I usually remember

    1. Venue

    2. Decor

    3. The dress

The last thing I remember is food- I can't tell you about any food I have ever eaten at a wedding. Usually it is extremely non-descript. But, I am an extremely visual person, so the biggest thing I see is the venue and decor- what was the theme? Did it all work? How unique were the centerpieces? Did the colors go? Was the dress flattering? If there was a fourth, I would say the announcer/dj at the wedding. The person with the mic can make the night go fast/slow/awkward/smooth over crappy speakers.
