My married friends are always giving me (solicited) advice about my wedding. One keeps telling me that the top 3 things guests remember about a wedding are: 1.The dress 2. The food 3. The music I'm not sure if I agree with the food being in top 3. What have been your top 3's as a guest at weddings? ...

I'm not sure if I agree with the food being in top 3. What have been your top 3's as a guest at weddings?

    1 - FOOD!

2 - Open bar and how long the line is

3 - Whether there was love in the room (*tear*)

    1. Other guests - we always have more fun when we know at least one other couple there

    2. Food/Alocohol

    3. Music/Dancing

Lately, several of the weddings we've been too have had photo booths and those have definitely contributed positively to my overall experience.

    1. If the booze was free-flowin'

    2. If I danced my butt off

    3. How the bride looked (hair and makeup and if she was having a great time)

Honestly, I barely pay ANY attention to the bride's dress. I notice it when she walks down the aisle and from then on I couldn't care less what she's wearing, just that she's enjoying herself

The food, the venue and the feeling (i went to one wedding where there was no feeling of love in the air and it was horrible, even though it was the most classy, elegant wedding i'd ever been to)

Ahhh I like that a lot of you feel like the ambiance is important!! That's what I was thinking.

I didn't even offer my thoughts:

    1. How happy (or not) the bride & groom seemed

    2. The music

    3. Who I sat with/who was there

    1. Bride/dress

    2. Food

    3. Basic events (cool ceremony, horrifying ceremony, great dancing)

My basic thing at weddings is to review what everyone is wearing. I always have a best dressed and a tsk-tsk in my head.

Plus I've been known to get drunk and flirt with wait staff. But that's only if the wedding is really boring.

Plus, I'm from New Jersey, so there's a spot in my head waiting to see if Sweet Caroline is played. So Good! So Good!

I remember if the crowd was engaged (no pun intended) with each other and the couple or texting and on their phones.

Whether the DJ or MC was a loud mouth asshole and/or pronounced their names right.

Whether it was too cold, too hot or too windy to be outside.

But then, I'm usually only there through the first dance.....;-)

    1. Food

    2. Music/DJ/Dancing

    3. Overall atmosphere.

    4. Decor. A good friend of mine got married a month after us and they didn't really decorate their reception venue, no centrepieces. It was just a basic ballroom.
